We use Sentinel on the 1st of every month. He doesn't give me any trouble taking the pill and we've had no ill effects from it.

I use Iverheart Plus on two of my three.
It prevents heart worms & 4 other worms, 2 of which are in my area.
My other dog is epileptic so h

I use Advantix multi, it is for heartworms fleas and intestinal parasites. I put the liquid on their back between shoulders 1 time a month. This is what my vet recommended and the first one was free.

I have to do both year round living in FL.

I live in SC also. My vet prescribed intercepter.

I use Heartgard plus, it takes care of all the worms you dogs would be exposed to. If you go to dog parks or just paths where other dogs have been, you might want to think about this. Some of the worms that dogs get, humans can get, for example, roundworms and hookworms, and if you're Yorkie is a licker and most are, you might want to have him on the full product. Always get a blood test before you start them medication. The product is considered very safe, a dog could accidently eat a 6 month supply without any ill effect.

I just left the vet...and he told me to NEVER use the kind you put on their skin! In TN we have many cases of heartworm deaths he said. He said the pill for is best!
