| Mienkie eats Cat... Hi, my smallest Yorkie has a tendency to eat cat feaces. Why is that? Can't imagine it's healthy either. Any ideas why she would? She's such a sweetheart! |

| That's a VERY common problem. Why they like it idk, but I guess they can smell and taste the cat's food in it since cat food is really high in protein. I've had to give my cats For-Bid. It's a powder product that will make the kitty poo taste bad to the dog and it's safe for the cat. You just mix it into canned food. I haven't found a solution other than that unless there's a way you can make sure she can't get access to the litter box.

| Jada is a cat poop conissour I keep the kitty litter box where she can't get to it, but the cat can. The couple of times she got in it gave her diarheaa and an upset tummy.

| I'm glad to hear my Cricket was not the only girl with this "dirty habit". I had to guard the litterbox when I had my maine coon. We used to joke, Cricket thought the litterbox was a "salad bar". YUCK!!

| I think EVERY dog breed eats Cat poop...When I got my Kitties, Bailey was 12 years old and didn't touch it, had no interest in it...but a few months later when I got Bella...she would come and jump in my lap and I could smell poop...it took a few days before I realized she was eating the kitties poop out of the litter box ...so I went right to walmart and got a little table to put the litter box on...kitties could get to it but Bella couldn't...she doesn't eat her own poop but boy that litter box was a buffet for her...nasty little stinker.

| Levi LOVES cat poop. I don't have cats, but anytime he finds a litter box (or when my ANNOYING neighbor lets her cat out and it poops outside) he tries to devour the cat poop. I always intervene, but I do hate digging cat poops out of his mouth. He thinks it's delicious and fun.

| I figured out a way that the dogs can't get to the litter box at home too (mine are in the basement now and cats can get there because they fit between the banister railings and dogs can't, so we put a babygate up to block the dogs), but every time we visit my grandmother - Alice goes straight for the litter box. Another idea if you can manage to invest in one and you're cat won't be freaked out is use an automatic cleaning litter box. A rake goes across the entire box triggered by a sensor after the cat leaves the box and pushes it into a resivoir, so there's no poop in there except for a few seconds after kitty is done. The For-Bid does work though, only problem is you may have to keep using it periodicaly. We have to move in with my mom for a few months while our new house gets fixed up - there will be a total of 3 cats in the house and there's no place to "hide" the boxes like at my current house, so I'll be investing in two of those. Kills two birds with one stone too much easier to clean the box.

| You need to put a low lying fencing around the cat box. The cats will jump over it but the yorkies wont. I use a hamster play pen

And you know I thought my cats would freak too when we first got it. but my female Baby will go in there after Milo gets out and if the sensor goes off she will still jump in there and do her business...thank god the sensor picks her up and stops and goes back into place...it doesn't bother them at all..LOL

| Littermaids are great for single cats or smaller kitties... mine are all bigger than my Yorkies, lol.... with multiples they all tend to want to use the box at the same time, like one after the other, back to back, and even the mega littermaid can't handle it. I went back to using a regular box and I put a Litter Locker right next to it, and I just pick up after the cats more often, which is a lot easier than dismantleing the Litter Maid and cleaning it every other day when it clogs. Also found out that the Diaper Genie (for human babies) refills are half the price of the Litter Locker bag refills and fit into the Litter Locker just fine. My one kitty would sit outside the box and trigger the sensor with his paw just to watch the rake move! Expensive cat toy!
