| Proper Eating Time for 4 month yorkie puppies. Please advise :-) Hello everyone, I have 2 four month old yorkie puppies, and I am trying to get a make a set schedule for their eating times. I know each yorkie is different, but they are not eating their puppy food. So as a parent I feel so bad when they dont eat and I blame myself. They are eating Buffalo Blue Puppy (in the pink bag) but my girlfriend also gives them treats which may be the problem of why they may not want to eat much. What tips can anyone give to get them on a good eating schedule. :-) Thank you so much Shanesta, Pickles and Snickers |

| I might not be of great assistance, as I free feed kibble, but I do feed them raw once to twice a day depending on their physical output. They usually eat best in the afternoon. I think free feeding kibble is great especially for those who have to leave the house or work outside the house. Mine will nibble on kibble during the day until it is "raw" time, and then they eat the whole portion that is given to them. I have yet to have a pup with weight issues. I don't think my way is the only good method, it is just the one that is right for my pups. There are plenty of other methods out there, you just have to find the one that works best with your pups. Good luck... edited for; and WELCOME TO YT! |

| Thank you so much. We used to give them food through a dispenser, but I could never track who is eating more than the other. So we stopped that and they are fed no more than a cup a day. I know they are grazers, but when they do that, they used to poopy at the strangest times because there was no set schedule... so its frustrating. |

| Tell your girlfriend to hold the treats. As you wrote, every dog is different. With Maximo, I fed him at 7 am, 12 noon, and 5 pm. We have maintained this schedule since he was a pup. He often wanted to play games with his food so that I would end up hand feeding him almost each kibble. Mealtimes became training sessions where Max would perform for kibble rewards. You may want to try this to encourage your pups to eat.
