| ![]() Hi everyone! I must say that I appreciate each and everyone's response=) I will tell you a little about our daily care regimen: She is fed Eukanuba small bites for small breed puppies which have proved to be very yummy to her and she has no problem eating it at all (fresh small bites and water are left in her pack n' play 24/7). In her pen, I also have small toys, a potty pad, and a heating pad which is left on at all times. I've been making sure she eats every 3 hours, and if she doesn't...she is syringe fed with gerber chicken and rice baby food mixed with a little bit of karo syrup. I was also worried about her getting hurt or stepped on by myself or my husband so she is restricted to the kitchen area with a baby gate and is kept in to play (only for 30 minutes at a time, I know that can over-exhaust themselves easily). I'm also a Nanny and only work twice a week so that means I'm home quite often with her. However, I am also lucky enough to have the family I care for to allow me to bring her with me=) This is just a small run-down of the preparations and care I've been providing for her since I got her this past Saturday. I'm excited and very nervous making sure that I do everything just right! I appreciate all of the support and helpful tips!! Keep them coming=) |

![]() London is a cutie alright. I love her look but pls be very careful. Hard for me to imagine a breeder letting her go this early, that low a weight and to someone inexperienced with yorkies to boot. Luckily, you are doing the right thing, searching for info to help your baby through the treacherous early weeks. Make sure you have some Nutrical on hand in case she does exhibit hypoglycemic symptoms. She really is only 11 ounces? My Annie was 1.3 pounds when I got her at 11 weeks and that was pretty small. One reason I got her was the breeder knew I had experience with a couple of litters myself, because she would not have sold her to just anyone being that small. London is on track to be pretty small as an adult (less than 2 pounds according to the Yorkie Growth Chart Guess-imator) but sometimes they get a slow start for one reason or another and can still wind up average size as an adult. Was she from a large litter? That could be one reason for a low birth weight. You are a neighbor of mine. I live across the bridge in Santa Rosa County. ![]() We have a pretty good 24/7 Emergency Vet on Davis Highway. Different vets in the area rotate on duty there. I would make sure to have their number and address on the fridge. I have never used them yet, but have the number handy for "just in case." I use the Ark Animal Hospital in Pace. They are great but might be too far for you. What are you feeding your pup? Make sure it is a high quality, premium puppy food. Nutrition will be even more important for such a little one. She will not eat much, so you need to make sure it is the best it can be. Can you tell who the breeder was that sold your sweet baby to you? If you don't want to put the name out on the forum for some reason, you can always send by personal message. Just click on my member name for the option to send a message. But there is nothing wrong with posting a breeder's name, just to say that is where you got your pup. I hope she is giving you support and helpful in information about a new Yorkie pup. Also hope she gave a good health guarantee. That is one of the sore spots with me. I see too many breeders not giving an appropriate health guarantee, leaving new owners holding the bag for vet fees that they should have contributed to. I know you have to be so proud to be the new owner/momma to such a beautiful pup! I wish you the both the best as you bond and become a family. I would be glad to help in any way if questions come up. You can PM me anytime and I'll send a msg with my phone number. Welcome to Yorkietalk and hope you enjoy it here as much as I do! I just realized how hilarious this is -- first I say Nancy said almost everything I would say, then I write a book. I need help! Seriously, I do not talk this much in person.

| ![]() Thank you everyone for your support. I'm in a lot of pain and shock as of right now, my little London died around 2am this morning. It just doesn't make any sense, I did everything I was suppose to do. I'm sick to my stomach -it just goes to show you that I have been fooled by thinking getting a "teacup" sized yorkie and getting her that small wasn't a good idea. However the breeder assured me she was ready to go at 10 weeks/ 11 oz. She even rushed me to come get her so that she wouldn't get depressed and have a sugar low. I thought she was a wonderful breeder, and yet some of you pointed out to me how she shouldn't have let her go to her new home that tiny and that young. I thought to myself, "that couldn't be, I trust this breeder". I no longer recommend or give credit as it is clear to me what she is: a puppy-mill that has lost sight of what is important...caring for these babies until they are healthy enough to go to their new homes and has become money-hungry. Please never, ever buy a puppy from AlabamaToysandTeacups.com You will regret it, she is letting these babies go too early!!! Most of you don't know that London was my replacement puppy for another puppy I had gotten from Alabamatoysandteacups in November that died. No autopsy was performed. I had done everything right with that puppy as well, but as you can see it wouldn't matter what I did, I couldn't have helped these two little babies from dying of low glucose because they are too small and too young! -Signed, a heartbroken mommy ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Something to bear in mind...just because a dog's age is listed as 10 weeks (on a website) does not mean it is the truth! Unscrupulous Greeder/Breeders will do anything to disguise an underage & teenie puppy as a "T-Cup"...even lying about the age of the puppy. I am sorry to see that the OP had to lose yet another puppy... ![]()

| ![]() I am so sorry this happened to such a precious little puppy. My heart is breaking knowing that two of these tiny babies met such a fate when it did not have to be. Another month with the mother, gettting more weight on her could have meant all the difference. This breeder needs to do some serious self-evaluation!! What are you doing to these puppies and the people who trust you to know what you are doing. ![]()

| ![]() This is so shocking and heartbreaking. I hope everyone who wants to bring home a tiny yorkie at less than 12 weeks of age has been reading some of the recent threads. I'm sorry for your loss. This breeder needs to re-think her current practices and procedures.

| ![]() Thank you all for all of your concerns and condolences. I really appreciate them. I'm an emotional wreck and this being the second time it has happened, the second time I expected it to turn out just fine, and the second time I was built up and let down is truly something I wouldn't wish on anyone. She was a sweet, sweet little baby and I miss her dearly. I have not informed the breeder about this, because I know she would blame me or insinuate in some way that I let this happen. I think if she could have kept her until 4-6 months it would have made all the difference in the world. The other reason I haven't informed her is because she will not issue a refund and I just couldn't bare to speak with her because I am that disgusted and sickened by the very thought of a person that would rush me to pick up my baby so early, knowing it wasn't safe for little London. Thank you again for all of your support, it means alot. Again, never ever buy a puppy from alabamatoysandteacups.com in Arab, AL. P.S. I think the best method here is word of mouth about this breeder. If we can prevent her getting any business from future clients, that's one more step towards someone not getting their heartbroken from losing their baby. |

| ![]() I am so very sorry you lost your baby London. I know you had high hopes for her and it isn't fair that you tried so hard and still lost her. I hope you understand we weren't "preaching" to you but were worried about her. What does your written guarantee say? This breeder should make it right with you somehow. Is this the guarantee you got from your breeder? Alabama Toys & Teacups It is only a 48 hour guarantee. That is terrible. I notice you are in Florida and she is in Alabama. Did she ship the puppy to you? Again, please accept my condolences, I know you loved London and tried your best. She just wasn't old enough or big enough to go to her new home yet. Teresa |

| ![]() Thank you again, Teresa and to all of you who have reached out to me...it makes me feel like I'm not alone and that people care. That makes the healing process much easier when you have such kind and caring souls that offer their support...so for that, I thank all of you! Teresa, yes that was the guarantee that usually goes with her puppies. For the first puppy I had, we didn't sign a contract because she had locked herself out of her office so we were going to email/scan/sign later BUT *Pixie* did die within 48 hours. I called her right away and she said that she usually required in autopsy but "took my word for it". She agreed to replace her with another puppy. This was back in November 2010. Finally the time came to get my replacement puppy in which was the past weekend (Jan. 29) and she didn't offer a warranty or contract with her because she was a replacement. So even if I wanted to do something about it, I couldn't. So I'm hoping with the out-reach to all of you that she will get a "word of mouth" wake-up call for what kind of breeding she's doing. This woman was on my facebook and I considered her a nice person. Since this morning, I have deleted her from Facebook and blocked all contact. I don't want to see her, look at her fb page, or even see her name anywhere on my computer or phone. Help me spread the word guys, and maybe by the Grace of God she will feel guilty enough to stop doing what she's doing. I appreciate each and every one of you. |
