The extreme straining, which will happen even in a thin, strappy harness, I believe is what causes the coughing. When this happens, I make Max sit until he calms down and the cause of his pulling is gone (usually a squirrel or cat ). Max and Teddy are both comfortable wearing their Buddy Belts when I leave them on for awhile. They will lie down and sleep in them. I will say the larger the BB, the heavier the leather and the longer it takes to break in. The 3 is very soft from the start, but the 4 was stiffer and took a month to soften. I think the BB would be a huge change from different kinds of harnesses. Jackson is comfortable in his Puppias and he looks great, so I would say, don't bother with the BB.

| Ha! Thanks. Pretty much summed up what I thought all along. I actually just looked on Amazon and Jackson would need a size 6 and it was like $75! Holy moly, no thanks, lol. They do look very nice though.

| Really, I think you would be happier expanding Jackson's collection of Puppias.

| FWIW, I have two that do that coughing thing once in awhile just from being overly excited, with no harness on, just running around the house. So, maybe once in awhile we blame the harness when it's just a case of over excitement?? I know it's a sign of a weak trachia, I just close my eyes when they do that and send up another little prayer.....

| No Coughing Today! I played in the backyard with Cooper and Max for an hour today. I then decided to take them for walks because I knew there energy level was low. There was over-crazed hyper energy. There was very little pulling, but there was absolutely no coughing. I'm fairly certain Max's coughing is due to over excitement and pressure on his chest. I think I'll now start tiring them out before the walk! It was much more pleasant for all 3 of us.

| It may or may not be, but I don't think I'd want to answer or assume this without consulting a vet.

| Just bracing myself. I was going to take him to the vet next week with his harness on him to see what my vet thinks/says since he's due for his shots anyway.

| Believe me, I understand. Don't make yourself upset with worry though. I've done that before and was completely devastated well before a true diagnosis.

| He's a little big His body is funny. He actually looks like he's wearing stilts. I hope his body/legs fill in a little bit. I worry about him because he just appears so awkward. Could be that he's still so young. But boy can he run!

| How I wish we could get our boys together one day! I think the 3 of them would just so cute running together. They all sound like little speed demons. Jackson went through that awkward stage, too, I think. Sometimes when I see pictures, I realize how long his legs are (though Max way beats him in that category!) How much is Mr. Max weighing these days?
