FWIW, I have two that do that coughing thing once in awhile just from being overly excited, with no harness on, just running around the house. So, maybe once in awhile we blame the harness when it's just a case of over excitement??
I know it's a sign of a weak trachia, I just close my eyes when they do that and send up another little prayer.....
