| Little lump/bump on her head. Help! Hi, I'm hoping someone can reassure me regarding a little lump I found on Abbie's head last night. It's a half inch or so above one of her eyes, just under the skin and moves around easily under the skin. It almost seems as though if you cut along the top of it, a little stone would pop out. It's smaller than a pea, maybe half that size. Any ideas? It doesn't seem to hurt her, but we're vacationing in Arizona for a month and her vet is in Florida. Think I should have her seen by someone here? Thanks for your help! Donna |

| I'm not sure what it could be. But if your going to be away for a month, I'd have it checked out there. Good Luck, Please keep us posted.

| Thanks for the suggestions but I haven't had her microchipped yet so that can't be what it is. Unless.....I rescued her, sort of, well, bought her from a woman who kept her in the laundry room all day when she was 5 months old. I can't imagine she would have had her microchipped and forgot to tell me. I've decided to call a local vet in the morning to see if I can get her in. I'll post back and let you know what it is. Thanks again! |

| Well, Abbie saw the vet today. Two actually and neither of them have ever seen anything quite like it! Both agreed though that it was probably a sebacous gland cyst and nothing to worry about. They said if it got bigger or started to drain or bother her, to get her back in. Otherwise, they were more concerned about her weight. She was 3 pounds 4 oz. a few months ago when she was spayed and today weighed in a a whopping 2.75! They've advised me to put her on moist food which she gobbles down rather than her picking at kibble because getting her weight up was more important than her teeth for now. She's always been a picky eater. |

| My last Yorkie had a lot of those and the vet took a needle and opened it up and drained it, didn't hurt the dog and was completly gone. I would just take him to your vet and let him decide what to do. But I am sure it is fine.
