| We're on Acana now. They were both on Wellness, and Bandit was on Innova, California Natural, and Orijen. |

				   | As of this morning mine eat Nature's Variety raw in the AM and Evanger's kibble the rest of the day. Today is the first day of raw so we will see what the kitchen looks like when I get home. Hope their little bellies do OK. **Daisy was the only one that actually ate the raw - Nick wouldn't touch it. |

				   | Wow, it's been a very long time since I've been here, but let me tell you, I've been around the block with my Edgar on food. We were feeding Nature's Recipe Easy to Digest b/c it was for sensitive stomachs (and corn and wheat free). I just couldn't figure out for the life of me WHY he was having sooo many accidents. All the time for the past ohhh like 2.5 years. I thought it was anxiety. I thought it was IBS. And I thought that stuff was expensive. In late July I switched to an even MORE expensive COMPLETELY grain free food which some of you have already mentioned, Natural Balance Limited Ingredients Fish and Sweet Potato. I am so happy to say he has been accident free since August 3rd. Who knew?? Still beats spending all that money on paper towels and cleaning solution |

, and he ate Blue Buffalo for quite some time. It's a very good food in my opinion, and he did well on it. I decided to go a grain-free route, so we switched to Orijen a few months ago and my Levi is loving it.

				   | I would probably be harassed for this one..lol Austin is on wellness puppy and he will not eat it unless I put some beef flavor in there. So I put a dab of fillet Mignon from Cesar or the lamb and mix in. Of course I give him more of wellness. He also eats the kibble from Wellness but only if he's starving. He is such a picky eater. And no, he does not drink Pierre water but he does drink bottled or filtered water. Before me he was feed puppy chow which I heard was exactly as he was eating his own poo.. Ewl! | Daisy puked yesterday at 4:30 in the afternoon. She had her raw breakfast at 9 am so I'm not 100% sure that was the cause. I hate it when they puke. Quote:

				   | Currently rotate through the following dry foods one bag at a time - Wellness Small Breed, Holistic Select Small and Mini breed, Castor & Pollux Organix - will be adding Fromm Salmon a la veg. to the mix. With the dry I mix either Fromm, or Weruva wet food, sometimes Freshpet select rolls. |

First look at the top 10 ingredients of Science Diet Toy and Small Breed Puppy. Note corn is #1 ingredient followed by chicken by-product meal which looks like the only "meat" in the product: Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Chicken Liver Flavor, Flaxseed, Pork Liver Flavor, Soybean Oil, Powdered Cellulose, Dried Beet Pulp, Fish Oil Compare to Wellness Small Breed Puppy: Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Oatmeal, Ground Barley, Salmon Meal (a natural source of DHA - Docosahexaenoic Acid), Canola Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols, a natural source of Vitamin E), Ground Brown Rice, Tomato Pomace, Rice Bran, Tomatoes We all want to do the best for our pets. Our dog was fed IAMS by the breeder and I thought the same thing when we got her. Hills and Iams were great foods at one time but were bought out and their formulas were changed. But do some research to find a quality/price you are happy with (I just used Wellness as an example)and try a few to see which the dog likes. There are many foods out there better than Hills and many of them are at a reasonable price. As far as switching foods, do it over a week or two. Start with 75% or the old food mixed with 25% of the new for a few days, then 50-50, then 25-75. You may notice some loose stools but only for a day or so. Here is a great site to help read the labels: The Dog Food Project - Dog Food Label Information 101 The Dog Food Project - Identifying better products Last edited by ajcstr; 09-22-2010 at 01:37 PM.

My kitty is on it now and she does great. I will be sure to be careful with little Rylie, but I may not have to even switch her over anymore. The breeder has been great! She said if I send some of the new food ahead of time she'll just start her right on it and I won't have to switch her over! ^_^ She's been truly helpful, accessible, and awesome during this whole process. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yorkie-health-diet/213019-preference-between-blue-buffalo-formulas.html

				   | Well, to make a long story short....I just recently split with my business partner. We (she still does have) had an upscale pet boutique. We sold Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul, Wellness (several varities), Halo Spot's Stew and Nature's Recipe. My Raley LOVES Chicken Soup for the Puppy Soul. He would not touch Halo and was not crazy about Wellness. With that said, now that I no longer have dog food available to me at wholesale prices I purchased a bag of Merrick's Grammy's Chicken Pot Pie yesterday. Raley seems to like it pretty well but I have it mixed with what is left of his Chicken Soup. I live 2 hours from any PetSmart and an hour from a Petco. I am not sure what brand I'll buy next to try but it may be the Solid Gold. Let me tell you, I MISS the wholesale prices!!!!!!! If my friend and I were still on good terms I could probably still get the wholesale price but she is NOT a business person and I really don't see her keeping the store open but that is an entire new thread!

Wow, it has to be hard to live that far from any pet supply stores and I think I have food dilemmas. Hugs to you!

				   | Puke is not fun. I thought she would have been sick closer to the time she ate the raw, too. I gave it to her yesterday and today and no stomach troubles so she must have gotten into something else that day. |
