| I feed my Yorkie's Artemis Kibble and the puppies were weaned with the canned food and eat the Artemis small breed puppy dry food also. All my Yorkie's have loved this food and eat it over Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Artemis - Holistic Approach to Pet Food |

WOW . This says a lot to me.My answer to Dr. Bicks would be: "Did you ever see a 2 pound dog CHOKE on a regular size kibble? Because behind those 'very sharp teeth', are very small throats." Seriously - that comment by Dr. Bicks was not only ignorant, imo, but downright snarky/snotty .Anyone remember when Stedman's Mommy's Tatum almost died choking on kibble (not to mention other members' kiddos)? So yeah, there *is* a reason why some breeds/dogs may do better on smaller kibbles. Also, maybe Dr. Bicks has forgotten (?) that canines mostly gulp their food, when able.

I have had small dogs my whole life. My vet recommended Science Diet small bites (YUCK), so that is what my dogs ate until 2 years ago when I decided to educate myself. They didnt even chew it, they swallowed it. So unhealthy. I have never seen a dog choke on LA. The kibble is a tiny bit larger than a plain m&m. Certainly not big! All of my yorkies chew their food, they never gulp their food. I think this is a bad habit that could be stopped. I stand over my dogs when they eat, they chew every bite. Dr. Jane apologized for not being more lengthy in her email response. Not sure why no one on this thread has recognized that except me and obviously Brenda. I don't think Dr. Jane has forgotten anything, she is highly respected by many. I agree it could have been worded differently, but it is what it is and she explained herself. I guess when you talk to a person and know their heart, you can look at it a little differently.

How could Dr. Jane apologize if she had no clue? Brenda brought it to her attention. I never said I was attacked and upset, I stated that a certain comment was offensive as I am a Rep and a loyal customer. All I am doing is stating facts about the company, customer service, Dr. Jane's calls, the fact that Reps are here to help customers. Nothing wrong with anything I said, I simply believe in this company because I have talked to Dr. Jane and I have witnessed what the supplements and food do for dogs. You are absolutely right, there are difference of opinions, and we all (INCLUDING ME) can voice them.

| WELL, back to the original topic... Here are some other concerns I have about Life's Abundance versus other foods. Either I missed it or it's not listed on their website so if someone could enlighten me and rest of YT, that would be great. 1. Where are their ingredients sourced from and where is the food processed/manufactured? 2. Are the ingredients used inspected by the USDA or AAFCO and do they meet their requirements? 3. LA offers a canned version of their diet - the canned food processing is extremely different from dry food processing, and almost all canned foods in North America are made by one of two large canning companies. Where is LA canned processed? 4. What animal testing (if any) does LA do and is it ethical? All of these things are important to me when choosing a dog food. There seems to be a lot of wonderful marketing on the website but no real information about the food.

| Hi, I agree with the users who found success with Life's Abundance. If you are training your new puppy you might want to look at Life's Abundance dog training treats. Unlike many treats that have little or no nutritional value, Tasty Rewards are made deliberately to be nutritious as well as being a treat. You can see them at: Vet Formulated Healthy Dog Treats and Training Treats. I have lots of other dogs health tips and information on my dog blog at: Dogs health: keeping dogs healthy and wet-nosed ? Daily Wetnose Dog Health Information. |
