| I personally would not feed either one of those foods. They have way too many by-products and fillers. My boys eat Orijen or Nature's Variety Instinct. This might help you in selecting a high quality dog food. Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble

☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | We use "Taste Of The Wild" and they are doing great. But even though it is a high end food, they eat between 1/2 and 2/3 cups per day. (1 is 4lbs and the other 5lbs) Solid smelly poops so all is good. Try this website for dog food info: dogfoodanalysis.com. It rates all types and brands of dog food and rate them from 1 to 6 stars. Gives detailed info on the ingredients and what a dog needs and doesn't, what are fillers , etc. Good Luck!

Agree. I would never feed either. Jackson eats Orijen and Acana kibble, and we usually get NV Instinct canned food or Go! Endurance canned food to mix in. To me, it seems obvious when you really compare the ingredients between Orijen and Iams for example. Look at all the meat and fresh ingredients! IAMS: Chicken, Corn Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Ground Whole Grain Sorghum, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Dried Beet Pulp, Chicken Flavor, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Dried Egg Product, Brewers Dried Yeast, Potassium Chloride, Salt, Caramel, Choline Chloride, Minerals ((Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Carbonate), Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin A Acetate, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Thiamine Mononitrate (source of vitamin B1), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Niacin, Riboflavin Supplement (source of vitamin B2), Inositol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of vitamin B6), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid), Calcium Carbonate, Monosodium Phosphate, DL-Methionine, Rosemary Extract. Orijen Adult: Fresh boneless chicken, chicken meal, turkey meal, russet potato, fresh pacific salmon (a natural source of DHA and EPA), herring meal, sweet potato, peas, fresh lake whitefish, fresh northern walleye, chicken fat (naturally preserved with vitamin E and citric acid), chicken liver, salmon meal, fresh turkey, fresh whole eggs, fresh deboned herring, sun-cured alfalfa, salmon oil, chicory root, dehydrated organic kelp, pumpkin, carrots, spinach, turnip greens, apples, cranberries, saskatoon berries, black currants, choline chloride, psyllium, licorice root, angelica root, fenugreek, marigold flowers, sweet fennel, peppermint leaf, chamomile flowers, dandelion, summer savory, rosemary, sea salt, vitamin supplements (vitamin A, vitamin D3, vitamin E, niacin, vitamin C, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12), mineral supplements (zinc proteinate, iron proteinate, manganese proteinate, copper proteinate, selenium) Here's a great review on Iams (listed as 2 star on here, 1 star on dogfoodanalysis.com): Iams ProActive Health Smart Puppy Review and Rating

| Petco carries several varieties of Wellness. I think Petsmart just started carrying one type of Wellness. And Petsmart carries Blue Buffalo (I don't know anything about BB, but some YT'rs really seem to like it). Oh, and Petco also carries the Solid Gold line of food.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I am also like everyone else if you can DONT feed Iams or basically anything you can get from the grocery store... it is not the best nutrition available. Before I got my little one I started researching dog food. I thought Iams was an ok brand... then I saw a video on Youtube that Iams does animal testing... let me just say it was awful I won't buy from that company. If you are looking for something at Petsmart/Petco there are some great other options. My little girl is currently on Blue Buffalo Chicken and Oatmeal and does well with it. I am happy with the ingredients and I know she is getting good nutrition. There are other ones too.. Wellness was just launched through Petsmart, it used to be only sold at Petco.. Alot of others Like Nutro brand.. Petco also sells Halo which is wonderful I buy some supplements for Taycie from that line. The best thing you can do is just research and see what works best for you and your little one. Go online and take the True blue test at bluebuffalo.com it will give you a breakdown of certain name brand foods compared to theirs. That is what sold me.. There are also wonderful brands that you can order online as well. Life's Abudance is good and I am hearing alot of wonderful things about a dog food called NOW!. Also.. check your area for local dog food stores that is were you will find Brands like Evo, Innova, Canidae, Taste of the Wild,etc... And just remember you have to find what works best for YOU and your little one... Some of great dog foods don't always work for EVERY dog so find something you feel good feeding! I was wondering if I should switch to a brand like Evo or Innova but she does well with BB and If i don't have to switch I would rather not and it is a good dog food. I did even post a thread asking if BB was a good dog food and many YT members feed it so I am not going to worry. Bottom line, some that work for others don't always work for you and that is ok! Just make sure your feeding something you KNOW what is in there and you will feel better as a mommy You can also go onto dogfoodanalysis.com this is a great site that basically breaks down every kibble Good luck! I hope this helps! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yes BB has the puppy food for small breeds Currently, that is what I feed because My girl is 5 months old. It comes in a pink bag. I am not sure about Wellness.. I think theres is just a basic puppy food but I am not sure.. My girl had a hard time with Wellness was too rich... Might just have to see what works for you |

I can't think of anything bad I've heard about BB. Like I said, I've never fed it but it seems to be a pretty good food.
