I am also like everyone else if you can DONT feed Iams or basically anything you can get from the grocery store... it is not the best nutrition available. Before I got my little one I started researching dog food. I thought Iams was an ok brand... then I saw a video on Youtube that Iams does animal testing... let me just say it was awful I won't buy from that company.
If you are looking for something at Petsmart/Petco there are some great other options. My little girl is currently on Blue Buffalo Chicken and Oatmeal and does well with it. I am happy with the ingredients and I know she is getting good nutrition. There are other ones too.. Wellness was just launched through Petsmart, it used to be only sold at Petco.. Alot of others Like Nutro brand.. Petco also sells Halo which is wonderful I buy some supplements for Taycie from that line.
The best thing you can do is just research and see what works best for you and your little one. Go online and take the True blue test at bluebuffalo.com it will give you a breakdown of certain name brand foods compared to theirs. That is what sold me.. There are also wonderful brands that you can order online as well. Life's Abudance is good and I am hearing alot of wonderful things about a dog food called NOW!.
Also.. check your area for local dog food stores that is were you will find Brands like Evo, Innova, Canidae, Taste of the Wild,etc...
And just remember you have to find what works best for YOU and your little one... Some of great dog foods don't always work for EVERY dog so find something you feel good feeding! I was wondering if I should switch to a brand like Evo or Innova but she does well with BB and If i don't have to switch I would rather not and it is a good dog food.
I did even post a thread asking if BB was a good dog food and many YT members feed it so I am not going to worry. Bottom line, some that work for others don't always work for you and that is ok! Just make sure your feeding something you KNOW what is in there and you will feel better as a mommy
You can also go onto dogfoodanalysis.com this is a great site that basically breaks down every kibble
Good luck! I hope this helps!
