| Can Yorkies eat fish? My husband and from time to time fix fish tilapia or flounder, although I know table food is not a good thing to give my babies I find my husband done not listen very well, he sneaks them food all the time nothing to bad but the other day he fed them fish it was baked in lemon juice but still the babies loved on my gosh, I was mad and then very suprised to see how much they loved it, I feed Boil-Jack dry food it has catfish oil in it but still can you feed Yerkes fish? I just thought I would ask, see what you thought, I don't mind them having some baked chicken/ hamburger grilled or a few veggies carrots /green beans/ such as that but not sure on the fish? I worry about them being healthy and not sure if fish is good for them at all or if once and a while as the other foods I said are given is it ok? thanks

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yes, fish is great for dogs ! When I homecooked, fish was a major part of my doggies diet bc of some issues Marcel was having (I was consulting w/ a nutritionist). They LOVE fish! I used whitefish like tilapia, pollock, cod, whiting....and then also salmon. Their meal was fish, white mashed potatoes, and pureed green bean.

I do love to get them treats, They love Veggies too, I just want whats best for them. You always think of cats and fish not your doggies. But now I know its ok. Thanks again for your help on this. | I only use broiled, plain. Let it cool completely and then shred. Make sure there are no bones!!! They love it. And it is wonderfully healthy for them. Everytime I fix us tilapia or any kind of fish (we only broil ours) I make a separate pan of plain for them. I don't consider that kind of cooking, table scraps. Table scraps would be giving them the food that we eat, complete with the same seasonings we have and that would NOT be good. They're stomachs are too delicate for spicy stuff. I'll sometimes cook whatever we're eating but leave out the spices. No salt/pepper or any other added flavoring. They love green beans, carrots, potatoes, peas, raw hamburger when I'm making something with hamburger. We buy sides of beef...I'm not sure I'd trust the store hamburger raw with all the e-coli recalls... Fish Good!!!!!

| Hi, I found the treats at Petsmart. They are called Omega Treats. Made athletes real salmon, layered with cod fish and sweet potato. They are low calorie too. I break them into seLler pieces when I give them.

| at Costco they have something called Chummy Yummy's or something like that - that is 98% salmon treats. They stink. Pluto loves them. Word of caution - no raw salmon or salmon skin or obviously bones. I know someone who's dog got very sick from raw salmon.

| Usually about once a week for her lunchtime meal, Piper will get some canned sardines in water. She loves them and has to gobble them down before the cats get a whiff!! |
