| After Neuter So Kobe got neutered yesterday and it all went well. Burgher sent me home with no instructions, just to try and keep him as calm as possible. 1st issue: he got no pain meds 2nd: one of his stitches looks like it's not tight & holding the kid together. There's like a tiny hole. 3rd: should the loose skin from his testicals be there & still hanging? He didn't sleep at all when we got home from the docs it slept good last night. Sometimesits like be can't get comfy, I'm just worried he's in pain or really uncomfortable. |

| You just have to be careful because they think they are healed way before they are. Chachi acted like nothing had happened

| awww, sorry that Kobe is having a rough time of his neuter. I would call the vet and ask for some pain meds. If he is not feeling well, it will probably mean that he won't be eating or drinking either and he probably will need to do that as he fasted before the procedure. I'm thinking the skin will shrink over time. I don't remember what Hot Rod's procedure was like but I don't remember loose skin, but he did shrink up after awhile. If you have concerns, by all means, call the vet and see if you can bring Kobe back in for a check. Better safe than sorry and he might very have too loose of a stiching. Good luck. Give Kobe kisses and a gentle hug.

| When my 2-yr-old Kerry Blue Riley was neutered, there was definitely an "empty sac" for a while - it shrinks. No worries there. However, I'm astounded that you weren't sent home with pain meds. If he paces or can't seem to get comfortable - that's a sign of pain and he needs something for it. Terriers are notoriously pain-insensitive, so if he's in pain, it means something. Try to keep him calm (no jumping, etc.) for a week or so. Provide lots of cuddles and distractions. Best of luck! |

| For Kaji there was loose skin around the area his family jewels would have been, but you say there is a hole? That worries me. If you're not sure, a quick call to the vet and let them know you're concerned. I had pain meds for Kaji, and honestly, for him they did more harm than good. Once the anesthesia wore off, he was back to his old self, and no sign of pain that I could tell. Just to be on the safe side, I gave him one pain pill. It made him crazy hyper! He barked, howled, growled at all the lights and shadows, he jumped up and down on his hind legs in his ex-pen, he was a totally different dog! I hope no one has those problems. I didn't know what to do, give him a pill to alleviate any possible pain, or not give him to keep him from jumping like a Mexican jumping bean.

| Thank you guys soooooo much for the responses! I called the vet and they said the stitches are fine and to check it everyday to make sure it doesn't get infected & if I even think they look worse to bring him. They didn't give him meds because the slight pain helps to remind them to take it easy and sometimes with the meeds the forget. But if i think he is too uncomfortable or in too much pain to bring him in asap. |

| Our vet didn't send home pain meds for our little guy either or for that matter..the girls didn't have any after being spayed. I hope your baby gets back to himself soon. I'm sure he will but it will probably just take a few days.
