| How often do their teeth need to be cleaned? These are high prices! Mine had 3 baby teeth removed when he had his hip surgery done. They asked me if I wanted it done at his neuter and I said no....I didn't know any better. Waving at the Bama folks! I spend two weeks a month in Geneva county between Florala and Samson. I used to use a vet in Opp, but I could use another recommendation for any emergencies that might pop up while I'm here. I listed Ocala as my home, but I spend just as much time here. I love how Troy invites all the HS bands to play at one of their games every year. My nephew plays football and plays in the band also. He looks forward to that game every year. I love to see the half-time show when all the bands perform at one time on the field with the Sound of the South. It is awesome!! | |

| Spike had his teeth done last month and it was $400 under general anesthetic, and he also had a couple of teeth removed. If you have insurance for your pup, make sure you check it, because I got a lot of that $400 back as part of Spike's insurance. Also, shop around. The quote I got from my regular vet was $700. I asked around, and a friend recommended the vet who actually did the work.

| I just learned about a non-anesthesia way to take care of their teeth and I will be trying it on Max when he's ready (he's only 6.5 months old). Go to professionalteethcleaning.com and see if it's available in your area. The company is Canine Care, Inc, 1-800-242-9966. I learned about it at a natural pet food store in my area. They said it's $100 for the first cleaning and around $20 subsequently if you do it every month or every other month for preventative maintenance. It sounds way worth it if we don't have to put them under. There's a $10 off coupon on their website. I haven't tried it myself yet but I will down the road a bit. |
