ok wish me luck, tomorrow I go back to that vet, solo, who knows where I'll end up. .... I'll find out what they think, so far he's maintaining well, I think he might have even put some weight on his protruding hip bones. He's very alert, but sleeps alot, I think the meds hit him hard. I know in humans even antibiotics poop you out. I am still trying to figure out how I am gonna get the others to the vet, I kind of think they all should have been treated as a preventative, all at once done at once. But I am waiting to see if tucks ok, and then I'll call for the rest, I can't be in 2 places at the same time. I just hope they can handle the panacur better.

Personally, if you are going to re-treat I'd go with Metronidazole not Panacur - but if you have begun using any of Susan's supplements, you may be able to get by with just using them. Trust her, she konws her stuff!!!!!!

Thanks again Jodi wish you were on here more girl we need you So glad Tuck is doing better are the others having symptoms? If not I think you have alot on your plate right now and if they are ok then you may want to hold up as he may have reacted more than them as he may have a poor immune system to fight it off unlike them. Keep an eye on them and if you see signs take them in Hang in there and so happy you are seeing good results so far

Thanks Dwerten and Jodi, I think someone does have worms, their poop bucket is loaded with moving white ricey things. Never ever did I have that before, even in the hottest weather. I wish there was something over the counter to give all as a preventative before it gets too bad. Also I was feeling good about tucker, but I had to look up PLE last night and it said it's a kiss of death, at best it's always a guarded condition that can go into remission. I expect susan's package today or tomorrow. When should I follow up with Dr. Gordon? I'll let you know how it goes at the vet today, should be home around 3:30. Take Care, and Thanks again, Tracey

don't believe everything you read on the internet it does not have to be the kiss of death if you get him on the right treatment You have to keep the faithok so worms like tapeworms from fleas? take each of their fecals in and have a fecal panel done to see who it is and treat that dog only. Why treat if the dog is not having the problem. Are they pretty regulated as mine are pretty regulated eat then poop | |

Tucker is better, todays ultrasound showed zero fluid in his abd. and chest. The doc. was an internal medicine spec. does only GI and endocrine issues. She believes b/c he responsed so quickly to the pred. that he can still live a good life. Wants pred. to be dropped as low as poss. to maintain for alittle then poss. drop completely. Calcium levels are normal, proteins I think were 2.6 now I think 4.6. Lost 2 more ozs. but with the fluids going in and then tapped out she said the weights are off. She's for the holistic stuff, she just said go slow and if reaction back off, and write down all that is given. This dog looks like a poodle, 2 front legs shaved bare, one bare belly for the ultrasounds, and now one back leg. She swears this would have started with or without the panacur. BUT, when he gets the next round of it, and any little difference call her and she'll switch it. My local vet. just called for an update, she is gonna take the rest in for stools and heartworm blood work, she thinks if the hookworm is still around like yard, the heartworm will give them longer protection, month wise, just so in 4 months they don't reinfest themselves. I also got my package from susan, he got a 1/2 capsule of liver enzmes today already!! So hopefully we can go back to normal soon. I got till July 1st. to build tucker up with susan's stuff before the panacur. I am very hopeful now that I got the probiotics. Do you think this sounds good????

My dogs for some reason never had a flea...these worms were like white maggots, or white moving rice, loads of them. never saw them in the bm. just in the bucket. Now it is extremely hot here, but I never saw them in any poop bucket in my life. Bugs but never actual worms. So it either came from tuckers one solo turd on sunday, or someone elses. If it's tucks, they hatched real quick, sunday to tuesday, I have a fresh bag in now, and I am checking and nothing, that's why I think I really need to play this safe, Tucker can't relapse from being re infected by his partners in crime, I think treat them all, rather then treating a weakened tuck over and over. Do you see any logic in my thinking???

my others are strong as bulls, I want to keep them that way and treat them and get it over with, no long drawn out process like with tucker. Now if anything goes wrong we know what signs to look for. I am reading alot on hookworms and they really put a hurting on your system and sometimes death. I am so proud of tucks will to live. I wish you could have seen him today, he actually walked out of the vets office and didn't need to be carried, all proud, he sat in the front seat in the parking lot eating his packed lunch I made of sweet potatoes and melted ice. He just glowed, even though he looks like a poodle.!! He just ate his last meal with his new spiffy probiotics!!now he's sitting at the gate cause he wants to go upstairs to bed. He must be alot better he's telling me what he wants. Have a good night to you and the pups!!! I'm going up to squeeze them all!! hee hee.. and thank JC once again.

Tucker had a bout of diarrhea today, BUT, I don't know if it was due to prednisone being cut to one a day yesterday, or because I started his health stuff from susan. Also his appetite today is very demanding, he eats every two hours because of the pills, but, I didn't have to wake him for the meals, he would wake up,sit infront of me and continuosly bark, until I got another meal ready. He's eating like a starving doberman? Everything else seems okay, just that he's starving. Also would you know if a regular pet shop would sell dehydrated venison crumbles? Susan said after a week I could add this to his meals for extra protein. I couldn't find it online. I found canned and dry dog food that had venison in it. She likes the ziwi peak brand. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it, Thanks, Tracey
