| ![]() Hi all, well...yet one more time my Zhoie is not wanting to eat her kibble after a couple or so months. She is now only licking the canned off of it. Geez-o-pete, I think we have went through evey premium brand out there. I'm want to try feeding raw....but I don't know anything about it. Can someone that feeds it...explain to me. Like best brand...pros and cons of it. How do you store it, handle it...is there a danger to feed it? Do you mix with kibble? Do you supplement with anything? Please help!!! ![]()

| ![]() I'm feeding Stella & Chewies, because I like the Hydrostatic Process, which squeezes out the pathogens, w/high pressure air, without altering or cooking the product...It also comes in one and a half ounce patties, that are very convenient...I have used Primal and Bravo, but the closest little boutique that sells raw, doesn't carry Primal...Btw, I never use a microwave to heat the food, because I think that defeats the purpose of all natural...But then I don't use a microwave for my food, either... |

| ![]() Feeding raw (Primal) is the best thing we ever did for our Snickers. He is so healthy, gorgeous, and smells like a milion bucks (no doggy odor.) You will want to try t go with one of the brands Sweet Apple mentioned. We use Primal and feed raw in the morning and free feed kibble (Acana-grainfree formulas) in the evening. It's too easy and you're pup will no longer be picky and WILL WANT to eat. I mean, jumping up and down and standing by the fridge waiting to eat kind of appetite!! Yay!! Snick & Viv

| ![]() To me raw is fresh meats and vegetables, etc, uncooked. I know a lot do this for large breed working dogs. Never did it with mine. |

| ![]() I went to a "Dog Tasting" this past weekend at a Specialty dog shop and all the vendors were there giving out samples of their products. Primal was there and they gave us a free frozen starter kit..which has a variety of flavors. I have to honestly say...its VERY easy! If you go to Primal's website...they have a calculator where you enter your dogs weight and they tell you how many nuggets you give per day. Before he use to come to his bowl at feeding time...now, Pasquale starts pacing cause he's SO excited about the raw. I say get a starter kit ...that way you dont have to buy the bigger package and you can try it out first.

That's the ingredients in pre-pkgd raw..fresh meat and veges...but they put other things in their to make them "complete"... Btw, Viviansnickers, is exactly right...Primal is an amazing food...It's just closer for me to get Stella & Chewies...If Pride-Purrfect starts carrying Primal, I'd, totally, buy that one too...I liked Bravo, but it comes in 4 oz. patties, and it got inconvenient trying to cut out and ounce and a half, etc., so that's the only reason I don't use it... | |

| ![]() I'm just hoping I can find a shop around here that will carry raw. I may have to research shops and go over to MD or VA.

| ![]() Can't you kust whip up a bowl of "raw" for them? Beel, chicken, turkey, vegetables, etc? I know a lot of Corso owners in Italy do this. Some even make their dogs catch their own food. |
