"FEEDING RAW" can ANYONE explain???

Ok, so at lunch I went to get Primal Raw yesterday, cause Zhoie had eaten nothing. I put it down for her...she sniffed and looked at me like...what the heck is this. Then...she dug in and didn't lift her head until she was licking the bowl clean.
She has had two more meals and the samething...loves it!! YAY!!

I put some of her kibble in with it the morning and she eat it right down.

My question is....can I put some of her kibble with it, or should I just do the raw?

If you want to do half a medallion of raw and then half kibble that is fine...i usually give Pasquale Raw in the morning and kibble at nite, or vice versa. You just want to make sure you're not overfeeding .

I knew she would end up loving it...I have never seen Pasquale eat so fast in his life..i try to tell him he's the only dog here and slow down....but nope!

LD....I know it, I was really shocked to see her go at it like that. I'm thinking I may have to go either all raw or mix some kibble in, cause she won't eat just dry kibble. Maybe I will just go all raw. 1 nugget in the am and 1 in the pm and see how that works out. Figuring out how much to fed her is my issue too.

Oh, I love the name Pasquale! LOL, that's my husbands name...Patsy Angelo Perrella (Pasquale). He goes by Pat, but all the family calls him Patsy. too funny!

I am certainly not the most experienced in feeding raw, but I have read that you should not give both raw and kibble at the same meal. Something about the digestion process. If you want to supplement with kibble, than one meal of each a day would be OK. If she doesn't like the kibble dry, you could try adding a little canned Tripe to it...I've never heard of a dog who didn't like tripe (owners yes, cause it really stinks, but never the dog )

Yes! Great post. Some people have no problems feeding raw and kibble together but because raw and cooked food digests at different rates, it can cause some upset stomachs. I wouldn't do it, personally, but that's just me.

We feed prey-model raw and love it!
