| Donating YT 14K Club Member | This topic has been discussed before. It seems a little cruel from the moral view to me but talking with someone that is considering this, she said that it is relatively painless. They go through the mouth (while they're put to sleep) and will laser the vocal cords. Procedure doesn't take long to do and they're eating again the same day. I'll have to do my research on it but just something for you to know.

| I have heard of this before and I am not very happy with it. Dogs are made to bark. The poor little thing. How can people be so mean. Thats like taking a voice from a child so it cant cry. |

| I personally find the practice reprehensible. If people live in so-called "no bark" zones then they shouldn't have dogs if they are going to have this done to their doggies. I can recount numerous times my little Muffin needed help and it was her barking that was an alarm to me. I myself cannot imagine having a doggie that couldn't bark.

| Yikes- I have never heard of this in the yorkie breed! I know this is how you came upon your baby, but I really think this procedure is a bit extreme. I once met a schnauzer owner who had this done to her dog because she lived in an apartment. The poor thing always sounded hoarse! |

| I could never do this to a dog or purchase one that has had it done. A dog has one important job in life and that is alerting it's owner that someone is at the door, that there is something new to look at or there is trouble brewing. Take that away and what do you have, it has to mess up their temperament . If I had to move because my dog barked, I'd move or I'd find a good home for my dog BUT NEVER DEBARK . To tell you the truth I don't know a vet that will do it.. but I suppose there are a few.

| wow how heartless are you? why own a dog if you arent going to let them bark or play. you wont get to hear how happy they are when they see you or they wont be able to talk to you or bark when theyre playing more power to you, lady
