| Apple doesn't raise her leg, in our yard, but when we go walking, she hikes at bushes, mailboxes, or anywhere somebody else has gone...She's spayed, as well...little weirdo... |

| OMG I thought Soph was just weird! She's not spayed, but ever since she was a pup she picks up one of her back feet. She doesn't hike it to the side like a boy does, she just picks that back foot up just as high as she possibly can. And yes, on walks she will stop every 10 feet. I swear sometimes I think she's going to dry up and blow away By the time we get home she doesn't have so much as a drop left but she still stops and pretends. |

| Maggie is spayed and she marks...as high on the post as she can hike her bottom. We've seen her almost do a hand-stand to get her rear as high as possible.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Don't forget that the adrenal gland makes some testosterone in both males and females, and this varies greatly between individual dogs. Testosterone is the hormone that is thought to be responsible for marking. Some dogs will never mark, unless they are around other dogs, and different things can cause the adrenal glands to produce more testosterone, of course the testes make the bulk of testosterone in males.

| Daisy lifts her leg (left only) to mark. I let her do it a couple times, but when we go for walks I make her walk right by my side and don't let her stop to mark. If I let her, she will mark at every light pole, fire hydrant, and corner of every building we come to. A trainer once told me it is a sign of a dominant female.

| YT Addict | Lexi is spayed and will mark, although she doesn't lift her leg to do so. I remember the first time I saw her do it, she was watching my roommates, un-spayed Great Pyrenees/St Bernard mark. She immediately went over to the same spot and marked. She done it ever since.

| Yup - Roxy is a our Mad-Marker (or Mad-Pisser as my hubby calls her). When we are outside, ALL, and I mean ALL Roxy cares about is marking, over and over and over. She has her spots and when you look for her, all you see is grass flying in the air from her "moon walking" - hahahahahaha She has now learned how to left her leg and she does it to mark now, sometimes, she backs her butt so far up on something to mark, she may be heading into hand stands - hahahahahaha Inside, she is starting to mark too ~ so frustrating.... thankfully we have tile and wood floors...Oh, she is 5.5 y/o and she started this about 1 or 1.5 years ago |

| Lane definitely marks, though it is usually in a squatting position. I always thought it was because of her past (mill rescue). She was spayed at the rescue before we got her and was obviously used for breeding at the mill, but she is definitely not dominant. My other spayed (before her first heat) female doesn't really mark except occasionally on walks.

| I'm glad my girl isn't the only one that does this. lol... She is spayed also. When we go walking she will pee everywhere But I truly believes she get's it from her brother, he is neutered but when we go walking he will mark everywhere and I guess she sees him doing it and so she suddenly started. So now I got both girl and boy that marks everything when we go walking. |
