| Opinions on NOW! Grain free food from Petcurean? Has anyone ever fed this? What did you and your pup(s) think of it? I wanted to start feeding Acana (by the makers of Orijen) but I don't want to pay the outrageous shipping costs if I order it online. I contacted my 3 local pet food stores to see if they could/would order it for me and none of them can/will. The last place I talked to recommended I try NOW! It's a grain free food made by a Canadian company called Petcurean. This local store carries it and says it's a wonderful company and wonderful food, but I don't think I've ever heard of it. It does not contain chicken - which is a must for me - and I think I'd like to try it but I want to hear from those who've tried it first. Any input would be appreciated!

I've heard great things about it. I was going to try it but got the Acana instead. I think Shaunna, Missy and Dora's mom uses it. | |

| I think I do remember Shaunna mentioning this food. I just sent her a link to this thread so hopefully she'll see it and give me some input. Thanks!

| I got some today from my local store that just started carrying it. I will let you know. I like the lower protein/fat content.

| I like that, too. I've liked everything I've read about this company. I plan to go Monday to get some. I really hope my guys like it - I think this could be "the" food for us.

| Oh duh!! I can't believe I didn't think to tell you about this thread. I did just reply to you on the other one, though. I'll look for your answer(s) here.

| Ryan, did you go look at what Shaunna had to say on my profile page? She even measured her kibble size for me (she's a doll - thanks Shaunna!) and it's VERY small. She does feed a different food of theirs so I'm not sure the kibble will be the same size but the lady at my local store also said it was small. I plan to go pick some of the adult formula up after work on Monday so I can let you know the kibble size then if you want? I want to buy locally the first time so I can get the free samples they offered and also so I can return it easily if needed. Oh! I could ask them for extra samples for you - I'd be happy to send them to you to try before you buy. Just let me know. ETA: my local store is willing to order in the small bites for me if the Adult is too big, but she said she really felt the Adult would be fine for my gang. yes I went to your profile I'm thinking I may give it a shot

| So I don't need to get samples to send you Monday? I really hope we all like this food. It appears to be exactly what I've been looking for.

| My babies have been eating the Now! since Saturday. I got the small breed kibble which is perfect for Lily who is 6 lbs but I think its too small for Max who is 12 lbs. I'm noticing that Max's stool is more compact but Lily's is still not as firm. She is 6 1/2 months and is having 5 stools per day with this food. Somehow I was thinking that it would be less since its grain free and therefore would not have the laxative effect. Any thoughts?

I would think grain free would equal smaller poo's too??? Maybe her stomach can't handle the food as well or she need a longer transition time from the older food???

| I saw this at the store I shop at. I looked at it because it looks good with the lower protein and grain free One thing that had/has me concerned is the ingredients order. Ingredients Include De-boned Turkey, Potato Flour, Pea, Apple, Whole Dried Egg, Pea Fibre, Tomato, Potato, Flaxseed, Canola Oil, Natural Flavors, Salmon, De-boned Duck, Sun Dried Alfalfa, Coconut Oil, Carrots, Pumpkin, Bananas, Blueberries, Cranberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Papaya, Pineapple, Grapefruit, Lentil Beans, Broccoli, Spinach, Cottage Cheese, Alfalfa Sprouts, Dried Kelp And Other Vitamins And Minerals. If the moisture from the de-boned turkey is taken out, this places main meat ingredient farther down the list in regards to meat content. So then the first ingredient would be potato flour, peas, ... who knows where the turkey comes in on the list. What do you all think? This is the only reason I did not try it out.
