Well geesh guys...You know how those scales are at the doctors..they are always WAY off!!

We TOTALLY love our big boy! He is only 7 months old so he is still growing

. We are thinking he will reach about 17 or 18 pounds

i just took my lil girl to the vet...and i was shocked when they said she weighed 9 pounds...she does not feel like it at alllll!!! haha

I do not want a tiny little 5 pound yorkie. I like them big. I fell in love w/ their cute faces and personality but 5lbs. and under is way too small for me. I didn't see any pics of Sherman in your albums, do you have one?

Do you free feed or do you measure your dogs food? I measure it and then leave it out all day since I have several dogs and some are evening eaters and some morning eaters. None of my dogs are over weight..Watch those high fat dog foods though..

I also think as our dogs gain we don't notice it as much because as they fain slowly we get used to the change in weight and just don't feel the gain.

We think Mindy has to have something else in her, she has a curly coat. When we got her from hubbys co-worker she was pretty much shaved and as it has grown in it has gotten pretty curly

I free feed. I would totally feel guilty if i limited her. If she gains any more weight i may switch her to something for weight control. Right now the vet says she's healthy and her weight is good so no need for weigh control food. I think she'll slim down since warm weather is on it's way. During the winter she's cooped up inside and doesn't get to run and play as much. By the way, Mindy is very cute. Nothing to me screams not pure bred. =]

I am starting to feel that way too. I am very glad i posted about this. I have always felt like the majority of the pups here on YT are so tiny but i am learning that's not the truth. It makes me feel alot less bad about Ella's weight gain. I

Roxie weighed in at 6.12 at last week's vet visit. She has gained 5 ounces since November's visit!

My new neighbor was showing me her "teacup" Yorkie (4 lbs.) yesterday and then referred to my Roxie as the "BIG Yorkie"!

Josh is full-grown. He weighs 9.5 pounds. He weighs 9.5 pounds on the vet's scale, and he weighs 9.5 pounds on my scale at home. His weight does not fluctuate unless he is sick. The funny thing is my breeder told me Josh would weigh five to six pounds as an adult. I am amazed that nobody ever questions me about Josh's size. Anyway, I think any dog under twenty-five pounds is a small dog. Your Yorkie is adorable.

I know how you feel but 9lbs is nothing to Buddy he is at 18 now he used to be 22lbs just make sure keep on a steady diet and your puppy will be okay
