Evo also has one small bites with red meat, Im wondering if they would like that? I have been cuting the orijen in half, they like the smaller bites. Talk about a spoiled bunch. But..........Im determined. Im going to get them switched over to something more healthful for sure, one that all can eat and that will hopefully help our alergy problem.
I used to feed mine Evo red meats small bites & switched bc I wasn't comfortable w/the high protein level 42%. They did well on it & they like it, but did notice more eye gunk & I always mixed it w/NB.

NB is not a superb brand, but for those w/allergies, NB does provide a wide range of different formulas. I'm very disappointed in NB bc they added more potato fiber & protein which are fillers into the sweet potato & venison formula, which we are feeding.
They also confirmed the use of ethoxyquin in their fish before transport, but do not use additional preservatives in the plant.

It was recommended to me recently and I like the looks of it. It contains turkey, duck and salmon and has a moderate amount of protein (26-27%). Alexander is terribly allergic to chicken but he does fine on turkey and duck, so I think I'm going to pick up a bag to try next week.

Thanks, Jenny. Also, go to my profile page. Shaunna (lilMissy) feeds this to her girls and you can read what she told me about it. I feel so much better about trying this food after talking to Shaunna.

Ok, I know I have a sick sense of humor but I'm getting a kick out of this. I'm ALWAYS the one who can't find anything locally and the rest of you have all these great places to buy food. I 'think' they do have online retailers - I'll check.

Yay!! K9Cuisine.com carries it. This is my favorite place to order food from online - great service!! They have free shipping, and their price is only $5.00 more than my local store. I am more than willing to pay $5 to save myself a half hour drive one-way to go to the store that carries it. Sooooo glad you asked this Ryan!!

This is what K9Cuisine has posted about this manufacturer (Petcurean):

Quality:
Our products are manufactured at plants which are EU, FDA and CFIA certified, meaning they must uphold a very high standard of sanitation, cleanliness and manufacturing practices. Our products are made using our proprietary recipes and standards, with our specified high quality ingredients.

Other plant safeguards include:
Independent auditing by NSF- Cook & Thurber, and the American Institute of Baking, both organizations used for human food audits.
Ingredients are tested prior to receiving for quality assurances including but not limited to; nutritional integrity, aflatoxins, microtoxins, and moisture levels.
During production, NIR (Near Infra Red) technology is used to measure properties like fat, protein and moisture content of the food.
Between production runs of different products, we demand a complete cleaning and sanitation to ensure the integrity of our foods. As well, raw ingredient bins are dedicated to just one particular ingredient, and raw material bins are cleaned between batches. Finished products are kept in a separate location from raw ingredients. Employees in different areas of production utilize strict protocols to ensure no cross contamination.
We demand that food ingredients used in our recipes be fit for human consumption, and free of contaminants.
Quality control procedures at all plants are monitored regularly by our employees.
Petcurean also retains in our warehouse facility, final tested food samples of all lots produced. All lot numbers are able to be tracked immediately due to our complete and thorough tracking protocol.
To conclude, Petcurean is dedicated to maintaining the quality products our clients have come to expect from us. Our concern as always is the health and well being of our four legged companions, and we will continue to strive for the highest standards available to achieve those goals.

I really am looking forward to trying this food.

On K9cuisine's website I didn't see the "small breed" offered??

Would "adult" work or will the pieces be too big??

Me, too. I'm sorry, Linda.

Ryan, did you go look at what Shaunna had to say on my profile page? She even measured her kibble size for me (she's a doll - thanks Shaunna!) and it's VERY small. She does feed a different food of theirs so I'm not sure the kibble will be the same size but the lady at my local store also said it was small. I plan to go pick some of the adult formula up after work on Monday so I can let you know the kibble size then if you want? I want to buy locally the first time so I can get the free samples they offered and also so I can return it easily if needed. Oh! I could ask them for extra samples for you - I'd be happy to send them to you to try before you buy. Just let me know.

ETA: my local store is willing to order in the small bites for me if the Adult is too big, but she said she really felt the Adult would be fine for my gang.

Me 3 Linda.

Maybe it's not there bc it's a new product...Ryan, have you asked your local pet store if they can order it for you?
I was concerned about the kibble size in Acana, but mine eat the NB w/no problems & it's about 3/4" in diameter. I was supposed to pick up a bag yesterday, but couldn't, but am on my way out to get it right now.
Why does Canada have all these wonderful dog food companies...

Good luck!!
ok I went today and took back the 25 lb bag, orijen website said they would refund the money. I told the shop owner go ahead and work it out with orijen and credit me for next time. I went ahead and got the red meat orijen and Im going to give it a go. She gave me a sample of the acana red, pretty much the same dog food. Almost identical ingredients. One thing I did find out though, its been 7 days since they have been on some kind of orijen, Dakota has not broke out with any yeast sores so that in itself is a plus. Keep your fingers crossed and say prayers it works. I was so stressed out last week. I swear I worry about these dogs like kids.....thats one thing about having so many 7 times the stress. lol
