| How offten do puppies need water? How much water does my 10 week old need. Some say only offer it 2-3 times a day with her food and others say leave it out all the time. What should I do? |

| I left it out all day when Rocky was little, and its out all day now too. I used Bottled Spring water, not tap water. You can never have too much water I think...its a life source. |

| Everyone will have different answers but if your house training your puppy you need to monitor his water. If your home during house training I would leave the water down and take him out about 10-15mins after he drinks. If he's crated and your working make sure he get's water with his breakfast, walked then crated. No water in create or you will set him up for failure. No water ever in crate if your not home to get him out after he drinks. Of course a puppy can not be left in a crate for 8 hrs with no water if your working full time he needs to go out and watered during the day. Once house trained water can be left down all day. |

| I also agree that it should be left out all day. Pups should not go a full day without access to water. If its not left out for them, they should be given access to water at regular intervals during the day. Pups are so easily distracted and eating/drinking is often the last thing they are thinking about so its good to give them access to water all the time to ensure they get enough.

| One more thing. we also only give ours filtered water. I wouldn't give the water from the tap to my skin-kids so I certainly wouldn't for our fur-babies. Its amazing how much garbage our tap water seems to have these days.

| I've seen what builds up in my kettle so I have now decided, its filtered water for my dogs. When the 2 german shepherds dare to drink from some puddle when walking in the forest I shall have a bottle of home filtered water to entice them away with lol

| Also hard water can cause a build up of (er whatever it is that builds up in you from hard water lol) so I don't want that happening to my dogs. Did anyone actually understand that? LOL at myself, senior moment

| I leave water out all day (refreshing the bowl twice a day). I filter the water using a Brita pitcher. |
