| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | My Prada is only 1.5 but she did brake her leg when she was 18 weeks and they paid a good chunck of her bill, she did not need surgery since it was a clean brake. that thank God has been my only big claim, the other claim was her spay and yearly vaccines and heartworm, and i had no problem with that , my oldest dog is 8 yrs old and he still paying the same ammount as when I started him, he is pretty healthy and again he goes for his yearly visits.. |

so it would have cost me more money as he was healthy until 2 so i would have paid 2 years of pet insurance and then they would not have covered much. | |

| Ive had Vet Insurance for a little over 6 months. I have not seen my rate go up and I read that the rate only goes up when veterinary cost rise. I made one claim and I was not charged more because i made the claim....you can call customer service to get details about the policies and questions. I did that when I was doing research and they were really nice to me! |

| I think Petplan will work best for us. We can opt for the $50 per incident deductible and 100% coverage and it does cover breed specific congenital and hereditary illnesses. I recognize that if I go to the ER or a specialist the copay is 30% but that is still reasonable in my opinion as they will cover up to 20k per year and it will cost us less than $40 a month. That with additional savings should cover us well. Thanks for input and experience.... as with family health insurance, we all have different situations, needs and concerns. Most importantly - we are being proactive in planning and preparing for the care of our furbabies. Good luck to all in their search!

| I think if I do get insurance I'll go with pet plan, it has the best reviews. Still doing more research, though.

| I've been really happy with Pet Plan. I think they have very helpful and professional customer support. They have also paid claims really quickly. I got the insurance for an emergency or unexpected issue that could come up. I know from my first yorkie how quickly an emergency fund can be drained (and then some). I currently have three yorkies, so I want to be sure all THREE are completely covered. I keep a credit card specifically for vet emergencies, and I would hope the insurance would reimburse for the emergency. |

| My Yorkie had pancreatis twice. Each time it cost over $2000. Our PetPlan insurance paid all but the $200 deductable. My premiums are a little over $300 a year. The reimbursement check came right away and the insurance company even called to see how she was doing. I highly recommend PetPlan. |
