I think Petplan will work best for us. We can opt for the $50 per incident deductible and 100% coverage and it does cover breed specific congenital and hereditary illnesses. I recognize that if I go to the ER or a specialist the copay is 30% but that is still reasonable in my opinion as they will cover up to 20k per year and it will cost us less than $40 a month. That with additional savings should cover us well.

Thanks for input and experience.... as with family health insurance, we all have different situations, needs and concerns.

Most importantly - we are being proactive in planning and preparing for the care of our furbabies.
