| How much to feed small yorkie? Bailey is 11 months old, and trained on puppy pads which has started getting her to going on other fabric things inside. I have 3 weeks off work right now and plan to use it to start the train your dog in 7 days program to get her going outisde. One of the parts that worries me is removing food. I've always free fed her because she's pretty small. Now full grown she is a little under 4 pounds (3.11 last time we went to the vet). I don't think I'd be comfortable giving her just 1 meal a day, so I *think* I'd opt for 2, morning and evening. My question is, how much should I give her at each time? Should I seriously limit her water too as the book suggests?

YT 2000 Club Member | My girl Jasmine is 3 1/2 pound and will be 1 year old this thursday. She wasn't house broke until 10 1/2 months old, however we free fed her during her house training and still do. We did this with our toy poodle also. I too was concerned about them not getting enough too eat so we just so we never pulled the food or water from them and this worked fine for us. Good luck!

| I've always free fed Jackson even during potty training. He's larger at 13lbs but it's never been a problem. He poops generally speaking 2-3x per day... morning, afternoon and after dinner, sometimes skipping out on the afternoon one. I do however continue to pick up his water bowl after his last time outside for the night (usually around 10pm) until the AM just because he will begin drinking water in the middle of the night and then have to go, so I avoid that, lol. I think its just about learning their schedule, consistency and patience! Good luck!
