My girl Jasmine is 3 1/2 pound and will be 1 year old this thursday. She wasn't house broke until 10 1/2 months old, however we free fed her during her house training and still do. We did this with our toy poodle also. I too was concerned about them not getting enough too eat so we just so we never pulled the food or water from them and this worked fine for us. Good luck!
