I'm not categorically opposed to Diamond products and they may be my best choice for now. Right now, I would just be happy to find something they can all eat. I looked at Barking at the Moon, but it seems to have the same problem as TOTW's Pacific Stream - fish meal & ethoxyquin. And it's even higher in protein than Instinct. All of mine did really well on TOTW Pacific Stream (better than Instinct, I think) so I will probably rotate back to that on the next bag of food and keep researching. For right now, I'm going to stop on the way home & get a small bag of NV Praire to mix in with the Instinct and see how well they do on that combo. If they do alright, I'll just keep up the mixture until I run out of this bag of Instinct and buy the TOTW. Thanks everyone for their advice. I really appreciate all the suggestions!

| Fromm Surf & Turf? It's their grainless formula and has 30% protein. I don't know how low you're looking for. |

I just don't think I'm going to find an answer that satisifes me on this one. I'm either going to have start feeding a food with grains, or a food made at a certain manufacturer, or feed a food containing ethoxyquin, or with the NB - go way lower in protein, or oh who knows what else.

| Hmmm, how about NB and add more protein? I think they manufacture at Diamond though. Or if it is just the size of Acana that is a problem, can you food process it?

| Aw, I'm sorry the NV Instinct isn't working out for ya anymore. Jackson still loves it and does well on it. I was considering buying a bag of the NV Prairie just to try it out since it's lower protein, but still the same brand, for these winter months coming where he's not as active. I got another e-mail coupon from them for a "buy one, get one bag free" so I might buy an Instinct and use the free one for Prairie and see if he likes it.

'Now grain-free adult' is another formula, but not really someting I would recommend. I can't think of anything else. It's pretty hard to find grain-free and low protein all in one; they don't really go together. Food choices can be so tough...wish I could be of more help. | |

| That's what I did. I think you can request them once a year, but if you have multiple email addresses......

I went to the store last night to get another food, and they had cut way back on their selection. They said they weren't going to stock the ones that didn't move as quickly any more. So all they had of the NV Prairie was the chicken & the lamb. My guys have never cared for anything lamb but I got a bag anyway. And, I went ahead and got a bag of TOTW Pacific Stream - I hate that it contains ethoxyquin but otherwise it meets all my criteria (grain free, no chicken, only 25% protein, and everyone loves it and does well on it). I'm coming to realize I'm just not going to be able to find one PERFECT food. When I got home I tried giving them a little bit of the lamb and not one would have anything to do with it. So, I just mixed in some of the TOTW with the Instinct and I'm going to go back to TOTW for now. Oh, I kept thinking about the Acana last night and realized it probably won't work since it has the same amount of protein or more as Instinct does. But, I will probably try a small bag in the future and see how it works - I would be thrilled if I could feed them this. If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear about them. Thanks again everyone!

Nature's Variety "I Love It" website (I'm sure there's a link somewhere on the site...) you have to sign up on that one. Then they sent me a Buy one, get one free coupon. I just received another email last week saying It's been 30 days since you registered on the Nature's Variety "I Love It" website for your Instinct or Prairie kibble coupon. If Jackson loves the wholesome, meaty taste of Nature's Variety nutrition, we'd like to offer you another coupon for a "buy one get one free" 4 - 5 lb bag of Instinct or Prairie kibble. You just have to do a quick survey!
