| Like choking??? Hi I switched Sydnee to Innova from the eukabana on Thursday, she had her daily constitutional yesterday but today she was straining. What do I do for her? I gave her some of the wet food also that the breeder recommended and sent home with her. Is it just a change in the diet causing it? Also; she sometimes acts like she is choking and there is nothing in her mouth and to tell you the truth I thought it was maybe stress and she was hyperventilating because of something new being introduced to her or when I was out of her sight in the bath? The vet saw her the other day and she is fine but this happened after the vet. Just like a child not do it while you are at the doctor's but wait until you are alone. I know I am being a worry wart, but my ex said I did this when our son was little also. Viki |

| Victri, hi. You mentioned Sydnee straining after you switched her food? I am not sure what you mean by "straining". Did you mean like having trouble eating? Was she not chewing her kibble and trying to swallow it whole? Did the vet check her trachea by chance? Is she coughing or just acting like she's chokeing? Im just curious if she doesn't possibly have a collapsed trachea? Im in no way an expert. I've only read from the books I have and other posts on such things and I am only speculating. Id keep going to the vet or if need be a differant vet if Sydnee continues this behavior. And I honestly don't think we can ever worry to much over our little one's. This is why we are here for them, to keep them happy, safe, and healthy! They depend on us 24/7

| that "choking" thing that she is doing might be kennel cough...... with kennel cough they have episodes after they eat/drink, after they are active, ect.... keep an eye on her and ask the vet again, it is also a good idea if you have a video camera or a tape recorder to tape her making these sounds and you could give this to the vet...... good luck |

| Hi Victri- I know how scary it is when the baby doesn't act right. Tini had a cough that sounded like she was gagging and I thought something was really wrong. I took her to the vet and it turned out she had bronchitis. After taking antibiotics she stopped right away. Not sure if this is what is going on with Sydnee. I am sure the vet will figure out what is going on and she will get better soon! Good luck! Joanne |
