| When do you get baby teeth removed? How long should you wait before you get baby teeth removed? Tucker is six months old and has several teeth coming in but still has his baby teeth. His breath seems to be worse which is probably to be expected but I don't know if we need to wait until they all come in before we get the baby ones removed or not. He was already neutered when we got him so we're not waiting for that. |

| Bandit was a little over 7 months and Nala was almost 7 months when we got their teeth removed because we did it during their spay/neuter. Bandit had to have 8 teeth removed, but Nala only had her four canines (The long pointy ones) removed. Nala was so calm and cuddly after her anesthesia...it wore off at bed time though lol I would talk to your vet. I feel like 6 months is the time when all the teeth start coming in. Bandit had a double row of adult and baby teeth so you don't have to wait for all of them to come in before you take the baby ones out. Last edited by BanditSocks2; 10-31-2009 at 06:48 AM. | Hi Well I am asking the same thing really. Dustie will be 8 months old next week...He has most of his second teeth through..but he still has the upper 2 canine baby teeth in place..and they don't seem loose at all... Is it time I took him to Vet to get them removed..! Thanks. Chris.

| My vet wanted to wait until my girl was a little older to spay since she was so small, however, I noticed she was not wanting to chew her food as usual. I knew she had new teeth in and still had baby teeth. Called my vet, who said bring her on in for spay, the teeth must be bothering her and you don't want her adult teeth to get out of line. Took her, he spay and was so surprised...she had 13 baby teeth still in. I would call your vet and get the babies out. Hope this helps.

| Well took Dustie to Vet today initially to get him microchipped...(done that) asked abouthis baby teeth...upper 2 Canines are still in there.but he said to leave them for the time being...as the second teeth Canines are through and it wouldn't affect them for now. I was a bit surprised at that..as I thought he would have taken him in and extracted them ...but apparently not..He said that Dustie could wait another 6 months really..that would make 14 months old.!! Any thoughts...as I was a bit surprised. He also really wanted me to have him neutered..but I am not thinking of doing that really anyway..! Chrisann

| 14 months seems a bit old to me, but I'm not a vet. We are taking Jack in next Saturday for vaccine booster and heart worm and I am going to ask the vet about his teeth. He has a couple that I noticed are coming in and the baby ones are not falling out yet - no wonder why it hurts so much when he bites.... LOL
