| Yeah talk to the board. Usually they will say they are board certified, like a human doctor will. On his business card or ad in the yellow pages, etc. I think there are national boards and then local ones, plus you could complain to the state he is licensed in as well. It will do you no good to complain to the board if he is not certified with them, but he will have to have a license from the state to practice.

| my goodness girlie...you have been through a complete nightmare. i've never heard of anything like this in the world....i feel so badly for you...you got caught up in a huge mess and then took another pup you didn't really need/want at the time because this A hole hung a new puppy over your head obviously to make you forget about what he'd done...i'd sue, i'd call the cops, and i'd do absolutely everything in the world to shut HIM DOWN. don't stop until he's fired and can't find a job anywhere ever again...this is crazy, he could kill someone's pet with actions like that!!! put him away for good girl! this vet doesn't have a license number on that list is making me worry a lot about him...this isn't by chance a Banfield clinic is it?? i've heard bad things about SOME Banfields...we have three vets at ours and i love my vet, but i'm not too keen on the other two because they are just out of school and my vet has been doing this for over 15 years.... i just wouldn't be able to go back to that place at all no matter how nice the lady vet is there...i'd be long gone and leave a trail of lawsuits behind me... hope everything works out though, good luck with the new puppy and take care of them. |

UPDATED********** ***Okay so I have been updating everyone in posts throughout this thread. This may be my last post on this so I thought I would update everyone as of today December 15. Last week we did a biopsy on the tumor, she was scheduled for surgery this morning,so we went in. The vet didnt feel comfortable with doing the surgery because she hadnt recieved the results at that time. She called me around lunch and let me know that is was a mast cell tumor if you do not know what that is look it up. This whole time we have not taken proper action because we all believed it was just a fatty tumor. Well it wasnt. They then gave me 2 options. Option 1-Send her to Auburn(I live in Cullman and its like 3 hours from me),have them remove the tumor(with removal it is 50% likely to come back),then give her radiation, and chemo. The cost for all that would run $7,000 to $10,000. Let me remind you,I am 18 years old with a full time job,a full time business,a car payment and an insurance, making $7.50 an hour. Option 2- Amputate her leg. With NO chances of it coming back. Today we did a biopsy of her lymph node to make sure it has not spread.(If it has....I guess i'll worry about that when the time comes, because right now I cant think straight.) Right now the option I am going with is option #2. I DO NOT like it AT ALL.But I and the vet felt that it was the best option. I am TORN!!! Zoey was my 1st baby, and I just.....I cant talk about it anymore. Please give me some feedback, and let me know if I am making the right decision....

| ***UPDATE*** Last night I got a call from the vet. She let me know that she got the biopsy of the lymph node and the cancer had spread there. But since the lymph node is right above her tumor on her leg we are hoping it will cure it when her leg is amputated. She is amputating her leg today, with high hopes that it has not spread further. She is doing some x rays right before surgery and shes going to call me and let me know if she can see any tumors. Now I have to decide whether to put her through chemotherapy or to just let her be

| Sweetie, I am sure you made the right decision. Don't doubt yourself. Dog's live with only three legs and they don't know the difference once they get use to it. I've seen many stories regareding this and they live a happy life. It effects us more then them, I think. If you can save her life and keep that tumor from growing back then your doing the right thing. Belive in yourself. I will keep your baby in my thoughts and prayer's today. May God grant your baby life after what's she's going threw. Remember, you can only do what you can do and I think your doing everything you can to help her. I will watch for an update. Bless both of you, Hugs, |
