				   | Has she had a bile acids test? All Yorkies should have them as Yorkies are 36 times more likely to be born with a liver shunt than all other breeds combined. Poor weight gain is one of the symptoms. She may just be genetically programed to be tiny, but a liver shunt should be ruled out. |

				   | I was really worried before Mija got spayed because since she is so small people kept telling me different things and putting different ideas in my head. I talked to my vet and they reassured me a lot. They told me they were used to the procedure because they often do it on really young kittens and such. During the operation she was constantly checked and her body temperature was controlled with a heated pad. Everything went perfectly and i'm really glad I had it done. She stayed overnight and when she came home she slept most of the day. The next day though she was a big ball of energy and she was practically back to normal! It only took her a few days more to be 100% back to normal! Mija had almost died when she was 3 months so I was also worried about that because I knew she was fragile so thats is another reason why we waited for her to be older. But i'm very happy I had it done. As for the feedings if she doesn't look or feel overweight, I wouldnt try to overfeed her. |

				   | amandawash- Thank you Amanda, I really hope she is just tiny but not unhealthy...will not overfeed her, promise! ))Blessed- In fact the vet didn't suggest Sugar to gain weight, the vet only said wait for another 2 months, until Sugar gains more weight (which I think is quite hard). I browsed some online articles, got shocked.. most of the people suggested should only get them spayed if they weight exceeded 4lbs..otherwise it's dangerous. I'm very worried what if Sugar doesn't gain weight for the next 2 months, the ops might be dangerous to her.. :'( |

				   | Why do you want to have her spayed? The risks may outweigh the benefits considering she is so tiny. I'd be very concerned about the anesthesia for the surgery.

i see that you feed her twice daily plus one snack meal; i defintly think if u feed her 3 or 4 whole meals she will def gain weight you should feed her another meal around 830 or 9 to prevent the empty stomach. good luck

				   | There's tons and tons of tiny Yorkies (& kittens!) that are spayed/neutered every single day and come out fine and well. Some rescues are even fixing animals at a younger age so they can be adopted out to families sooner. You're always taking a risk when going under but I think that spaying is safer than not. Many many female dogs end up with loads of problems later down the road if they were never spayed. Our family Golden Retriever was never spayed and at around 7-8 years old, she got really sick and the vet informed us if she had been spayed at a young age, she wouldn't have to suffer thru all that.
