my female yorkies hair is falling out in clumbs
i have a 1 yr old female yorkie that came out of heat 2 months ago and about 2 weeks a go i started to notice that her hair is falling out in clumps was wondering if anyone knows anything about this

You really do need to see the vet on this...it could be a number of things.

I have heard of this happening but I agree that you should have her checked out by a vet. She could have a thyroid problem or any number of issues really. Good luck and let us know how you make out!

i adopted timmy, my new yorkie from the shelter about a month ago. He is supposedly 3 yrs old or so and still has a brown and tan coat. He looks a bit puppyish. I have noticed he is losing tiny clumps of hair around the house. When i brush him, hair does come out. Could this be b/c i changed his food recently? He has a throw up prob that is not solved yet (vet this friday for barium study) so i switched him from Eukanuba, which is what my pom is on, to Purina for sensitive systems that has salmon in it...this made him throw up WAY MORE. So i switched him back over to Eukanuba. His stomach is doing a lot better, but im still noticing the tuffs of hair. Could this just be because of the food switces?
