| Moistening Dry food question Forgive me if this sounds ignorant Tyler eats Blue but the pieces are way too big for him. It takes him maybe a day or two to finish a small sized feeding dish. So I put some water in it and let it sit a few minutes and once it was moist I dumped out the water. This won't take away any of the nutrients will it? I feel stupid for asking this but I want to be sure and if that means me looking dumb... well... call me dumb Thanks guys... |

| What I did to moisten Winston's food was heat the water in the microwave for 30 seconds, dump in the dry food immediately. As soon as it was cooled off enough the food would be soft enough for him to eat. I find that this softened it a little faster and he liked it warm. I don't think it really lost any nutrients so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

| I wouldn't worry about dumping out the nutrients...dog food is pretty hard stuff. I also microwaved Stella's food (sometimes still do if she doesn't want to eat when I put the food down). I got the organic low sodium chicken broth and put maybe a tablespoon in her food dish with the kibble and then microwaved it for about 8-10 seconds, then stirred it up and gave it to her. It softened it up just enough for her to gum it a bit when she was teething but not enough to make it mushy. |
