| Loose poop..... 16 wk old has loose poop everytime after he eats. He's on Natural Balance sweet potatoe and fish. Sometimes it can be very smelly and w/mucous. This has been going on for about a week now. He has already been tested for worms and he was negative. I've never had a problem with the rest of my yorkies and they are all on NB. Have already done the rice and broth for few days and he's fine but once I give him a little of the dry food he starts again w loose poop. Any advice truly appreciated - I'm starting to worry

| Fish sometimes gives my dogs loose stools. I'd switch to something like chicken and see if it improves. If the stools are mucous covered, he may be out of balance with bad bacteria and may need some probiotics or even Flagyl from your vet if that does not work. I just posted a link elsewhere about a product I use for my dog with MVD and IBD who gets diarrhea often. Here it is if you are interested. Acidophilus for Dogs & Puppies, Dog Probiotic, Kosher & Lactose Free - 16 fl. oz. - Dynamic Health

Thanks for info -I have strawberry yoplait yogurt should I give him little right now? He seems hungry he last ate at 5 and had loose poop right after eating. Another thing I've noticed is that his tummy makes alot of funny noises like rumbling.

| You can try the yoplait but the probiotics have much more healthy bacteria. Make sure it's not a diet yoplait with any artificial sweeteners. If his tummy is rumbling and his stools are covered in mucous, his intestinal flora is likely way out of whack and yogurt is simply not going to do that much. If you have a whole foods nearby, you could try a liquid probiotic for infants and sometimes they carry an "acidophilus for dogs". Probiotics will clear it up much much faster than the yoplait and get your dog back on track before you need flagyl (metronidazole) which just causes other issues. Not sure what you can find at this hour but if you are on the west coast, these places might be open still.

| Good luck, keep us posted! I swear by that liquid dog stuff, it's great, clears up Daisy's diarrhea in one or two doses. Oh and it gives them nice fresh breath and no stinky gas bubbles!

| The liquid is from the website. WF's may have a comparable product in a liquid for infants that might be suitable. Otherwise, check online and see if you can get quicker shipping.

| I've been having very similar problems with Oscar. He's had chronic diarreha for months. He's been on flagyl, which worked for a while but then would stop. We thought it could have been food allergies. He is now on Natural Balance duck and potato. He's had everything under the sun checked and the only thing my new vet seems to think it could be is a problem with his digestive enzymes. He is now on a course of steroids and digestive enzymes and he is eating better than he ever has but his poop is still mushy at times. I just started adding probiotics to his food and I hope it works. He seems to have a problem feeling when poop starts to come out of him and he always has a little bit of poop hanging out of his bum. I've had to put diapers on him so he doesn't lick the poop off. I hope your pup gets better, I know how hard it is to have a sick little one. Good Luck!

| I kept him on chicken broth and rice for few days then gave a little activia yogurt in mornings. Started him back on natural balance today and he's had 2 normal poops and his tummy is not making weird sounds anymore
