If his tummy is rumbling and his stools are covered in mucous, his intestinal flora is likely way out of whack and yogurt is simply not going to do that much. If you have a whole foods nearby, you could try a liquid probiotic for infants and sometimes they carry an "acidophilus for dogs".

Probiotics will clear it up much much faster than the yoplait and get your dog back on track before you need flagyl (metronidazole) which just causes other issues.

Thanks - there is a Whole Foods by where I work I'll get it for him tomorrow. I think you're right he does need some priobiotics to balance him again
