| Overly Runny Eyes??? Bijou is only 9 weeks old and is going to our vets this morning for her first check up. I've noticed that she has overly runny eyes. I mean, they water so much the bridge of her nose is often damp too. This isn't normal, is it? She had this when I got her from the foster. I thought maybe it was because she was playing and around the water bowl or the foster cleaned her or something, but it hasn't stopped. I clean her face and an hour later it's there. She had her first set of shots 3 weeks ago so I don't think its life threatening, but will find out from the vet today. Could it be allergies? I've had her on bottled water and am slowly mixing in our tap water, and I'm feeding the Eukanuba small breed puppy w/cottage cheese like the foster fed, but I'm mixing in a little Royal Canin small breed puppy. Our appointment's at 11 am so I'll post what the vet says. Anyone else have this issue with their yorkies?

| Yorkies can have a problem with dry eye and a very simple test can be done to determine if this is the problem. The test is very simple and painfree.

I wonder if it is the food, both foods are not good, I tried Laci on the Royal Canin and she loved it, however her eyes were really runny and her face was stinky... I think it may be the corn that is in both foods..Perhaps before she gets used to that food you could switch her to a better food, like wellness or merricks, eagle pack hollistic.... it has helped Laci ALOT...

| Back from the vet's They did a culture on her ear wax and she has a 3 out of 4 grade ear infection and the runny eyes could be a clogged eye duct or start of an infection. So she's on any antibiotic for the ears and one with a steriod for the eyes. I was surprised because I thought ear infections had a strong odor, the vet said she smelled it in the right ear. I didn't notice it though, but the tests don't lie so she's on medication for the next ten days (for the ears) 5 to 7 days on the eyes. I'll let you all know if it helps or not. She's 2.9 lbs at 9 weeks old. Her heart and lungs are great I'm so very happy about that!!! They are going to watch her knees as she grows because they don't pop out, but are flexing...so we'll see on that one. Over all I'm much happier knowing she doesn't have anything life threatening wrong with her. Thanks for all the information. As for the dog food, I'm trying to find Evo in a small breed puppy formula. Does anyone know if they make it? I'll have to go care a lot on line and see if they sell it. Thanks again!!!
