| Not eating!! Please Help! Hi everyone, So Juno had been fine with eating his kibble, until approx 1 wk ago. He normally ate in the morning before i left for work. I would leave him in his pen with food and water (he normally had an empty bowl when i came back from work), and then i would feed him at 645pm. I have noticed that for the past few days, he has been really picky. He comes and sniffs the bowl, then walks away. He may have a few bites of kibble, then walk away. I feel like i have to chase him down to eat. He will play and drink water and be normal. Well, i was told by ppl to put the food down, and if after 5 min, he hasnt ate, pick the bowl up. Well, i did that (broke my heart) and put him to sleep. I thought that in the morning, he would be super hungry, but he did the same thing. So i left food in his bowl and left for work. Came back home, and it was still full! And at dinner, he had a few pieces of kibble, thats it. Is it b/c he doesnt like his food? This morning, i took his liver treat (100% pure beef liver, freeze dried), and crushed it and put the powder in his kibble. He ate the whole bowl! Is it safe to do that with every meal? The liver treat is the size of my pinky nail (all crushed to a powder). Pls help! |

| I dont see why mixing the liver treat would be bad if he eats it

| Coral was fine with her food, and then just started eating less and less until i was hand feeding her every meal. i finally changed her food and she gobbles it up now! as for crushing a treat in his food, i dont see any problem with that, as long as he is eating!

| liver is high in vitamin A and not good if dog has liver issues. Some dogs with liver disease will not eat -- how old is your puppy? Have you had any blood work to see if this is health related? |

| Louis did the same thing but after coming here I figured it was the food. Louis would only eat sometimes..when he wanted..even though I'd put the bowl up after 5 mins...I didn't know if it was because he was full from the treats or the food but found out it was the food. When I got him..he was on the science diet(horrible) he ate it for 2 weeks and then I saw that he wasn't interested he'd prolly have a couple of the kibble and leave it... he'd play around as usual..then I saw all the reviews of science diet and realized it was bad food(I also realized he kept scratching even though he didn't have fleas or ticks or anything, I had checked) well, I switched him to nature's recipe puppy and now he gobbles it up but I see that the kibble is too big for him and idk... I wanted to switch him to innova but didn't know where they sold it but I just found out where they sell it by my house . So I'll switch him again and leave it at that. Btw..he doesn't scratch as much anymore and he's doing fine. He eats mornings and afternoons. I only feed him twice a day. Maybe its the kind of food you're feeding him or how many treats does he get and how much does he weight?

| Juno is approx 5lbs now. He has been eating fine with his liver treat mixed in. As for the amount of treats he gets, its not taht much. When we are doing training (sit, stand, etc), i will give him 1 rollover treat (they are not that big), but I break up the little treat into even smaller bits. He is doing pretty well with eating now. I think he's just bored with his food. Right now, he is on Chicken Soup for Puppy Lover's Soul. |
