| She just wont eat! We got Charley about 1 month ago, she is almost 2 years old. I have the food she was already on (RC), I bought new food and wet food and well, she just wont eat. She is eating about 1/2 cup max a day. She barley will drink water. I am trying like crazy to get her to eat and drink! She just lays down and sleeps all day. She does not really do much. She is very skiddish and scared of everything. (poor monkey) What can we do?? We are seeing the vet again in 2 weeks for a booster! I am worried about her! Michelle |

I would be a little concerned too There are just so many Yorkies with liver issues, if I were you, I would have the Vet do bloodwork and a Serum Bile Acid Test to see how her liver is functioning. Picky eating and lethargy are too symptoms of liver issues. Or she could just be a picky eater and she still needs to get used to your home. Where did she come from? What was her life like before? | |

| I'm assuming you're mixing kibble and wet food together. If you are, I've found that nuking the wet food to get it nice and warm, then mixing in the dry, makes it smell good. That always seems to make it more tempting to my dogs. Maybe that would be worth a try for you, if you're not doing that already....

| Charley was with a single mom and another big dog (husky). Charley and the big dog were left home alone alot as mom was working long hours. The lady told me Charley was playful and so on. Charley is 8lbs. Seems like Charley is depressed. She won't play. She won't chew bones. She just cuddles all day and night long. She follows me everywhere. I walk her 4 times a day. I take her everywhere so she is not alone. But she sleeps.. She does not seem to be in any pain. She just lays around... moping! I feel bad for her... and I want her to be happy and live a doggy life! I don't know how to help her! I am going to try and nuke it right now! LOL.. | Does she have to work for her food? How many daily walks a day does she get? Get her exposed to more and more things... get her lots of exercise, a few good long walks a day and that will get her nice and hungry! Don't just give her food... make her work for it and deserve the food. After exercise, she will definitely want to eat!! Make it look better by mixing it with some plain chicken and rice or wet dog food mixed in with dry kibble. Of course, that's after you rule out any health problems! There may be a reason she's not eating, health-wise. EDIT - Just saw your post above that said you walk her 4 times a day so never mind on my advice above, lol. Maybe it will just take time for her to come around. It's never good for them to go without food for more than 24 hours for sure but if health issues are ruled out and she is almost 2 years old... I would just leave food down at all times and wait for her to eat. Dogs usually won't go hungry.

| Poor little baby... It sounds like she's depressed to me. I'm so glad she has someone like you that will work with her! Good luck!
