| Another Tick My little guy has another tick. This time it's above his eye and we have an appt for his allergy shot this afternoon so I called and they vet can remove it. The last one was under his front leg and I didn't feel squeamish about removing that one but this is too near the eye for my comfort. His monthly dosage of Frontline is scheduled for tomorrow!

| Jackson's had THREE in the past three weeks and he's on Frontline as well. None of the ticks have been engorged with blood or anything but they gross me out! I always make whoever else is home take it out, haha. I'm thinking the ticks around here may becoming immune to Frontline. MD is a high tick state so I just purchased K9 Advantix online and will be trying that. It's supposed to repeal ticks, fleas and mosquitoes whereas Frontline doesn't repel them, just kills them once they're on already. Plus, it doesn't protect against mosquitoes.

| I've picked 7 ticks off of Bobo in the last 2 days. This has really never been a problem before. I called the vet, and she said to go ahead and give him another dose of Frontline (6 days early) as the "ticks have been particularly aggressive this season". We live on Cape Cod, so I always worry a bit about the deer tick situation. I felt a little funny dosing him early, and am keeping an eye on him. So far he seems fine. He is on the larger side of the scale at almost 7 lbs. |

| My pup Lola stayed with my sister in Upton MA in late March when my son was at Boston Children's. We found only one tick in her ear. In April I had blood work done for heartworm. The test came back positive for Lyme's! She just finished a month of doxycycline. My vet recommended the Lyme's shot as he is seeing more dogs coming back positive. He also said the ticks are VERY bad this year. |
