Thank you :) Yea, the pet store was SHOCKED the vet recommended Natural Balance. They said almost all vets recommend Science Diet or Nutro. I really like the Natural Balance. I figure I'll switch her up with the various non grain formulas they offer for her. I also can't wait to make her a soup or stew!!!

have a question dont know who to ask but why wondering my 5mnth yr old morkie seems like she has baldy spots or lossing hair type of thing?i shower her every 6 to 7 days>??am i doing something wrong? she uses hyphoallergenic shampoo...idk what to do? any ideas???

Oh no!! You better go get a skin scraping and have them scrape in several areas. She may have mange like mine has. Sarcoptic mange mine was sold to me with! It stinks!!! Even if they don't find a mite, you better re-test a week or two later to be sure. I hear it is hard to find an actual mite. My vet found one from one little scraping which meant my 14 week or so old Yorkie at the time must have been covered with them!!! I hope yours doesn't have it, but you better get a scraping. Where did you get your puppy?

My Yorkie eats Primal Raw Beef, Artemis small breed puppy and Innova/Evo beef. Only the best for my little baby!!

I can tell you Natural balance is very good quality food. I worked next door to Natural Balance and I know what quality ingredients go into NB food. They use the best meats, fruit and veggies. Trust me if you could only see the steaks that go into that food! Trust me its even good for humans. 2 bad I moved to Texas and petsmart here does not carry Natural Balance but I know Petco has it but then I dont have a Petco here.

I agree and have been told to switch out every so often. I too stay away from corn, wheat, egg, etc. Instead, there are different grains; rice, barley, oats.
Do to allergy problems, I am going bonkers!!! with trying so many different foods and I really can't afford this. When I got him he was on a terrible dry food with the main ingredient wheat. He was a year old Nov. and I still can't get rid of tearing eyes. I am now watching him closely on the foods I give. Right now I have Mr.T on raw rabbit with rabbit kibble to munch on during the day if he wants it but doesn't eat much of it. I have been told so many different things, I am upside down.
Now I've found there is a difference in the meat being a cold, warm, or neutral food. I am trying each kind and stick to one list of all the foods in that list, even what the treats contain. If the tearing starts, I switch to a different list. My vet says it could be airborne but with the winter, he stays in. I clean, clean, and clean. I should probably research this on a different site. I wanted to read up on this thread, but my main problem is tearing eyes and have been told it is probably from his food. I did try some angel eyes when I was visiting my sis and it stopped. My concern with that is there is an antibiotic in it and I don't know the long term effects. Hers is a Maltese with the red stains. If no one here can help, I will keep researching. One of these days, my baby is going to be tear free. It can get really bad. BUT, he doesn't wake up with it. It starts after he eats.:confused:

Being indoors can be very drying for their eyes & sinuses. It can be environmental allergies, but it can also be genetics. If his parents had tear staining problems, then he'll most likely have it too.
How much protein is in his food? I've noticed that high amounts of protein also produces more eye gunk.

Does anyone else feed RC's Yorkshire Terrier 28? I'm switching to Artemis Small Breed when I run out, but I've used RC for years and my little nugget is seemingly healthy

Hi, I have my girl on by Nature Puppy Formula (recommended by the breeder). I can't seem to find it on many dog food grading charts. Does anyone have any reviews/comments on this brand? Here are the ingredients. My puppy seems to be okay with it. Thanks for any responses or feedback.

I couldn't find it in dog food analysis either, but by the ingredients, it sounds like a good premium food.

My Tucker came from a home that couldn't keep him. I got him at 6 mths. He was very thin and unsocialized but still had a great personality. He would not eat when I got him home, I have 2 other big dogs and feed Origen which they do amazing on. After making home made chicken cubes, putting cheese on his food (just a little), I landed on a raw diet, which he seemed to love. Now he sticks his nose up in the air at raw, so I am trying Origen Puppy and Tripe (for extra temptation). No matter what I put in front of him he really only gets excited about his late evening feed. I worry that he should eat more than once per day (he is 4-4 1/2 lbs). :confused:When he won't eat, I give him a little , 1/2", Nutrical to keep his blood sugers up. Can a Yorkie thrive on 1 feeding a day?PS - He is 10 months now.

Some smaller Yorkies really don't eat much, but I personally don't have too much experience on one that only eats well at one meal. Mine are hungry all the time, but we recently switched to Acana Grasslands & they love it!
I did have to entice Mimi to eat when she was younger. I tried all kinds of things: scrambles eggs, hard boiled eggs, boiled chicken breast, salmon, pumpkin, baked sweet potato. She'll eat it for a couple of days & she would turn her nose on it, then I had to think of something else to mix into her food.
Now, she eats the Acana very well, w/nothing on it, but I do mix in some diced thawed frozen green beans for breakfast & Coco Therapy oil for dinner.
