Bought fresh green beans and cooked them. Added to rice, chicken. Cut everything small. Ate some chicken and green beans. Here’s hoping it’s enough to satisfy her. I know she gets hungry but won’t eat. Teething and chews on bully sticks for short intervals.
This is a lot of work and worry.

This is not balanced and can cause significant issues with her health and growth especially her bones. She needs to be on a balanced puppy food.

That would be great if I could find one she would eat. Hate hills and Royal canine. Tried numerous others with no luck. Trying green beans and chicken tonight get. Something is better than nothing.

Not sure why you would hate a food with so much science behind it. Royal Canin is great for picky eaters and you’re not the one who has to eat it. So many healthy thriving dogs eat it. Trying Royal Canin would be better than her bones becoming weak and brittle and not growing properly. Dogs will not starve themselves. Give her the dog food and stop changing to quickly. If you don’t believe me I suggest talking to your Vet.

I’m sorry if I didn’t sugar coat it for you but it is helpful for you to know an unbalanced meal for any dog is dangerous but especially for growing puppies. In my Vet assistant classes as well as some of the Vet groups and other dog groups I have seen and heard horrible stores of bones just snapping due to poor nutrition. Why do you not like Royal Canin? You are aware the most fly by night companies that rank “ high” on peoples lists aren’t WSAVA approved and were the cause for all the DCM heart issues? Unfortunately ingredients is not how you can judge a food and what we like and looks good to us is not necessarily what our dogs need. I encourage you to reach out to a Vet nutritionist at least. Your puppy does need to be on puppy food. Have you tried the Royal Canin Yorkshire Puppy kibble?

Sometimes you have to let them skip a meal or two keeping in mind that you should monitor them for hypoglycemia;BUT, in saying that, most puppies of her age won't have a drop in blood sugar like that unless there is something medical going on.

You may have to do a bit of tough love here within reason.

Once they know you will keep giving other options they will often refuse food just to get you to give something different.

Yes, some are pickier than others. That I do know but I would not try to give her a home cooked meal without consulting with a vet nutritionist but that is pricey. There is a website, run by a vet nutritionist where you can do that, but you must by the supplements if you want it to be balanced. The diet is free. www.balanceit.com

Have her on hills puppy bites dry.
Vet put on Royal canine can. Ate alittle and no more. Added boiled chucked to it and ate the chicken. Well aware of balanced diet. Ollie is a premium dog food for puppy’s. Tried lamb and Turkey. Not much luck. I ate some fresh salmon and she loved it. So mixed a little of salmon with the wet food Royal canine. No go. Bought yesterday Royal canine dry puppy food. Going to wean hopefully into eating it. She did eat her hills this am so hopefully getting back to normal. Vet wants her on puppy wet food. Breeder says dry better for teeth.

The studies are mixed on canned vs kibble and effect on teeth.

If you can get her used to teeth brushing, that is great but you must be willing to brush them at least 3 times/week, preferably more. BUT in saying that, yorkies still often have periodontal disease and need dentals done by a vet under anesthesia. You should only use a vet that does dental xrays because the problem is often under the gum where you cannot see it.

Sounds like you are getting her on the right track with the food. I hope so because she does need puppy food until she is 1.

Genetics plays a huge part in periodontal disease in yorkies.

I have one with good teeth, but she still needs a dental every 2 or 3 years. I don't think there is any way they could go a lot longer than that because of their tiny mouths. Most I have or have had, needed a dental every year.
