Now that we know what's going on, it's easy to look back and see things 20/20. He has had a few episodes (like, 2) in the past where I would touch him and he would cry. Once was soon after I got him in November. Then on Monday he went to jump up on the couch and didn't make it.. he cried and ran off but was fine when we checked him over. On Tuesday night, he took a honkin' flyin' leap off the bed (tall). I came walking out of the bathroom and hubby was in bed trying to grab him and I tried to catch him but was about two foot to far away. He has never limped, been paralyzed or acted like he hurt moments after until last night.. DH, my vet and the neuro are thinking he tweaked himself with the fall from the couch and jump off the bed. We are going to treat him as directed and we will keep him contained for the duration of Ranger's recovery, which should be 8 weeks.. Then for the REST OF HIS LIFE he will NOT be allowed to ever jump off/on anything.

| ![]() Sounds good! Cole isn't allowed to jump anymore and even though my parents have a ramp up to their bed that the dogs do use, they decided to lower their mattress and box spring to rest on the floor, instead of being high on the frame. My Mom also is lining the floor with pillows at night just in case Cole falls off by accident ![]() |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() I'm so sorry to hear this. We've been using steps for Joey since he was a puppy, and he's bigger now, but I still insist on the steps. They say when it rains it pours, and this sure seems to be happening to a lot of people lately. My prayers are with you and your boys.

DH just called and asked if he could speak to the director at the Yorkie Rehabilitation Center.. at least he still has a sense of humor. Nancy, I have steps. How the heck do I get them to use them? Ranger will look at the steps and jump right over the top of them. Grrrrrrr. At least Ryder for the most part waits for me to lift him up or put him down. At least until he trys to take a flying leap into my arms from 6 ft. away... I do have to say, I *couldn't* do this without all of your guys. My "normal life" friends DO NOT understand all that we do for our babies. The support here is invaluable, and far outweighs all the drama.

Poor little guy, I hope he get's relief with the meds. How in the world are you going to keep not one but two little one's still for weeks at a time? I hope things calm down and the two little guys can heal with no more problems. Take a deep breath Amanda. It's gotta get better soon. ![]() |

| ![]() oh Amanda- i'm at a loss for words- this is too much for one Yorkie mom to have to deal with.... I wish I could give you a big hug- if there IS a silver lining.... at least Ryder won't be trying to get Ranger all riled up while he is on bed rest..... ?? As for the stairs- We spent a few hours with Layla going up and down and each time she used the stairs she got a treat- even for the week after if we saw her using them - big praise and a treat- now she woudln't even think to jump. |

| ![]() Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about Ryder. I hope with Pred it'll keep the swelling down and that this is only a temporary thing.

| ![]() I hope both your furbabies will get well soon. I am really sorry to hear the news. Yorkies just have no fear over anything and we Mommy often have to fear for them. At least they do have a very good Mommy.

![]() I'm so sorry to hear about Ryder. You definitely have a lot going on. Don't feel like you are being whiney at all. We are all concerned for our babies and we all know how each other feels, you are amongst friends here. Keeping Ryder and Ranger in our thoughts and prayers. ![]()
