| Comfortis? After reading and researching many threads and also reading articles online. I really want to put my girls on comfortis instead of Advantix. But my vet here only recommands Frontline. I told her I don't feel comfortable with the frontline. I really want them to be on comfortis. Comfortis requires prescription from the vet. I dont know what to do! Can i just ask her to give me the prescription? Do vets do that?

| If that is what you want your girls to take just tell your vet that is what you have decided you want for your girls. If your vet will not prescribe it then try another vet. I don't know the difference in something that requires a prescription or not since I get it from my vet. Your girls are your family and it should be up to you and if your vet is not willing then I would look up other vets. |

| Since most of the time you can find prescriptions online for less $, I would tell her you're going to order some and have the company fax her the sheet to fax back with the ok |

That said, I like Comfortis and have had my Lab on it for a while now. In his old age he has developed a flea allergy and the Comfortis was just the thing he needed. He is flea and tick free, has had zero side affects and his coat and skin a very much improved. I would say he is 99% recovered from the effects of the flea allergy. Do you buy pet meds from an online source? Just notify them and they should send/fax a prescription request to the Vet for you. The Vet fills it out and faxes it back. I wouldn't think she would deny you what you want.

| I think it requires a prescription because the only want it be sold through vets, whereas like frontline and advantage can be bought at most petstores. It is inconvenient though. I just bought a box for lacy and rylie. It's warm here again so I know we need to start it soon. I've been hearing great things about it. I would call and ask the company about your dogs being under 5lbs
