Bare in mind that Comfortis has a 5 lbs MINIMUM weight requirement.
That said, I like Comfortis and have had my Lab on it for a while now. In his old age he has developed a flea allergy and the Comfortis was just the thing he needed. He is flea and tick free, has had zero side affects and his coat and skin a very much improved. I would say he is 99% recovered from the effects of the flea allergy.
Do you buy pet meds from an online source? Just notify them and they should send/fax a prescription request to the Vet for you. The Vet fills it out and faxes it back. I wouldn't think she would deny you what you want.
