| Started my two older Yorkies on Taste of the Wild (Wetlands) last week, and all seemed great! Solid poops, eating well. This morning, there seemed to be a gas leak! (checked my teenage son- wasn't him, LOL!) I know some of you have said that you had gas issues with TOTW; was it temporary or long term? I am still looking for that "perfect food" for my four... All the ones the OP mentioned are on my list...

| Well, if that's what you woud prefer to feed him and he likes it, go with it. The only thing might be that if he was around other dogs, there may be some competition going on . . . and that's why he ate it. Unless those dogs are always near by. |

| If you're looking for a great grain-free kibble, EVO is fantastic...higher in protein (which I don't mind) and Snickers is thriving....the only dry kibble he will eat...good luck, choosing a food that you approve and your doggie will eat is tough!!!

| Hm, okay, so for me currently it's between Wellness or Merrick's Before Grain. I've surprisingly read better things about BG than Wellness on review sites and such. And they've got three flavors so I'm thinking so he doesn't get too bored, I could buy the chicken and buffalo flavors and switch them up.

| Britster... One great thing about BG is that they have 1lb sample bags you could try out. I tried it before Evo but Snick had loose stools and also refused it after awhile. Yes, you can easily rotate flavors as BG's main ingredient is chicken in all it's flavors. I did the same type of research as you are doing before switching. Good luck, hope he likes it. Smiles..

| My older two like Before Grain, especially the Salmon, it seems. Right now, I have the new babies (Eli and Emmie, Shih Tzu and Yorkie) on Merrick Puppy Plate, and everyone seems to be doing well. I'm hoping all continues to go well; I like the Merrick company. (and I like the 1# bags!)

| Small update - so, Jackson's been eating Before Grain for about 4 weeks now. He LOVES it. Buffalo is his favorite flavor so I bought the 6lb bag of it and we'll go through that first, then maybe I'll get him another flavor, maybe not. His breakfast in the morning is the Buffalo Before Grain kibble mixed in with the wet Wellness canned puppy food. He gobbles it up. Then I'll usually put another scoop of the kibble in his bowl around 12 or 1pm and he nibbles throughout the day and then around 6 or 7pm, he finishes it off! Yay for Before Grain!

| My vote is for Innova....my Yorkie and Maltese love it and it has very healthy ingredients. Also it is made in small batches so that it is never stale. I wouldn't say it is inexpensive but it is definitely worth it. |
