Please Help... My baby got her rabies shot and I need some advice

Answering in order.... yes, no, and puppy shaking, walking along the walls, temporary blindness, ate & drank fine.

It should also be noted...rabies is the #1 vaccine that causes reactions...so it's not necessarily anything other than that. It is possible for your vet to give you a waiver from getting it in the future.

I have heard about liver shunt here on the forum but had honestly never heard of it before. What is it exactly and when would you have them tested for it? I'm going to have them both tested to be on the safe side. If she does have it I will contact the breeder to let her know as well. If she doesn't I will ask the vet about a waiver for her. What other tests should I ask for?

Update- Natasha is now resting comfortably on the couch.

Jackson has not had his rabies shot yet, he's 5 months. I was trying to hold off until 6 months, which is when a lot recommend getting it.

I have a question though (might as well not start a new thread)

Jackson has had 3 sets of the distemper (DHPP - got DHLPP during the 2nd set but had reaction, so never again) My vet wanted me to schedule him for his 4th distemper puppy shot, but I really do not want to give him another "booster." I think he's had enough. Is it OK to just to the 3 sets? He got them at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks.

Thank you again for the info.

She is resting so peacefully now and I keep checking her to make sure she's breathing. I will continue keeping my eye on her through the night just to make sure she is okay.

8, 12 and 16 weeks is a common schedule.
I wouldn't do anymore but of course either way, sometimes vaccines don't work and he could still be unprotected whether he gets another set or not.

Read Dr. Dodds vaccination protocal. 3 is enough, some Vets schedule a 4th, but you can over vaccinate. Dr Dodd recommends a booster at one year and four months after the last one. However, if your pup had a reaction, you might want to have a titers test done on him just to check on his immunity levels.

If you chose not have anymore, and his immunity levels aren't what they should be, you'll just have to be abit more careful on where you take him.
