| Both of mine did horribly after their 1st shots. They would YELP in pain if you picked them up..lasted for a couple days! Before the rest of their shots my vet would give a tiny injection of Diphenhydramine 1st (no charge)(I think its the main Ingredient of Benadryl) and it worked wonders! Wouldnt even know they had shots! I think its pretty much the same as when our skin kids got their vaccinations we would always give tylenol 1st to help with the soreness.

| Hi I had same problem with my puppy. Apparently it is a reaction. First time, I think she got 3 shots with pre-med. Then next time was one shot and she was fine. Then the third time, I left her at the vet all day to make sure there was no reaction, she didn't really seem to be in pain like before, but she just had that sick look to her first. Last time,I told them only one shot at a time, and she did get that sick look but only lasted a few hours. I start freaking out evertime she has to get shots. I've read on here before some people will only let their dog get a half dosage shot. |
