My vet said I should not feed can food due to tarter on the teeth, but I do free feed as I work during the day and in the morning before work I feed a fourth of a can of Ceaser Puppy food as a snack really and the other fourth when I get home. I do this to discourage food hording issues so I feed her on my lap with a spoon....ok I know...but she is use to it that way and I microwe wave it as it brings out the flavor and smell and make the food mushy and easier to eat.

I use to free feed until Manolo was put on a special diet. I do like free feeding when you have Multiples and different breeds. Less food aggressions

I used to free feed my baby, but I didn't really like the fact that she would go all morning and all afternoon without eating anything. She's a very picky eater and usually wouldn't eat until the evening. With this new routine I've just started, so far she has eaten both the morning and the evening meal for the past 2 days. In the morning, she gets 1/3 cup of her dry with 1 TBLS of yogurt mixed in. In the evening, she again gets 1/3 cup of her dry with 1 TBLS of cottage cheese mixed in along with some shredded carrots and a pinch of shredded cheese also mixed in. She has definitely become spoiled. She gets half a biscuit after she finishes each meal and usually a few treats later on the in the evening so she's set for the night.

Feeding was an issue for me when I got Madison my 9 mos yorkie. As I had a 5 yr old maltese. So when I learned about Nature's variety I was thrilled that it was nutrionally sound for my senior dog as well as a puppy. which meant that I could feed them both the same thing. I don't free feed them. they get a scant 1/4 cup kibble and a tablespoon of canned mixed in. Morning and night. If they don't eat all their food within an hour it gets picked up. They get a few pieces of dehydrated chicken as treats throughout the day.
