| Those look like the most popular pet foods. It has nothing to do with quality. There is no best food for all dogs and it would be impossible to make a top ten list of the best foods because different dogs do well on different foods. I know nothing of Dogswell or where it is made, therefore I really can't recommend it. My major objection to the ingredients is the inclusion of garlic. Most dogs will do fine. We can't be sure that it won't cause damage to some. That I am not okay with, so if I had the choice between two similar foods, one with garlic, one without, I would choose the one without personally. While I would sooner feed a "premium" food, I haven't been too impressed with some of these companies lately. Research and do what you think is right.

| IMO she was just sharing a link she found, so that we could read it, and make our own decisions, or be steered to the best food to give her baby. There is a thread somewhere on here that rates them by quality, and not price. If this post irritates some of you don't read it, and just use the other quality thread.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I have come to the conclusion that no matter what you feed your pets and mention it on this board, your are always going to get grief or nasty comments cause its not the food that everyone else is feeding. This converstation has gotten so OLD!! This is what I have gotten from every food debate on this board: -If it comes from the grocery store its wrong, who cares if you dog is eating and thriving.. its still just wrong _if its made by diamond food no matter how high quality it is its still wrong because they had a food recall 3 years ago.. -if it has to much protein in it, it may not be good for your pet -not enough protien in the food is wrong -who cares if it makes your pet poop to much, its still a premium brand. -science diet, because it comes from the vets and they get a kick back from it, its wrong -if it has anykind of grain in it whats so ever its wrong -who cares if your pet dont like it mix it with yogurt or canned food so they will eat it because its the "best" The OP has stated that she has tried giving her pets a higher quality food they wouldnt eat it and she is still getting grief?? Some of you saying that she started this for another debate all I saw her ask was if anyone had every heard of dogswell. I give her a thumbs up for trying different brands and not giving up, like most people would of by now. I have tried the so called premium quality foods, just about all of them on the market. My dogs wouldnt eat it or they would crap a ton. So whats the point? You cant force feed a dog a food that it wont eat and if its crapping so much what good is the food to them anyways .I will feed my dogs what they will eat. I dont care if you all dont like or what you think of it, they are MY dogs. This will be the last time I comment on any food debate.. TO the OP... my dogs are currently also on dogswell viatlity. They are doing absoulty wonderful. They love it and dived right in the first time I put it in their bowls, the pieces are bigger but my little ones arent having any trouble at all. My poodle and Tucker went from crapping 7 times a day on the totw to 2 or 3. Tuckers coat is not dry anymore and he is no longer itching at all. They carry it at my local feed store and Im paying 10.99 for the 4 pound bag, I wanted to wait and see how they did on it for a few weeks before I bought the bigger bag. If you know of any online deals please let me know. Oh thier treats are wonderful too, my little ones love t he chicken wrapped sweet potatoe one. Good luck, I hope your pets do well on it.

| No prob.... . They seem to carry most every brand and I know that I save on my brand even with the s/h. Also, they're out of PA so your s/h may be cheaper since you're in NY Last edited by Woogie Man; 01-27-2009 at 08:52 AM. |

here is your other thread first 3 of your posts. word for word, copy and paste! Interesting- Dog Food There was a segment on our local news just now, it said you can go in to any grocery store, and as long as the dog food says AFCCO on it, that it's just as good as the organic and every other kind of food out there. He said that people are just wasting their money on all this expensive food. Guess that's why all of our dogs always lived long healthy lives on purina The thing is, think about it. Years ago, that's all they had to feed our dogs. Our dogs(small ones lived to be 15-19 years), big dogs 12-15 years. Now, I just wonder who started all of this on this food and that food is bad? It's from what people have been told. So, As soon as mine are closer to being out of their food, I'm going back to purina or pedigree, will look for the AFCCO, then will decide on a food and stick with it Purina is AFCCO. Think I will check in to purina one or purina pro plan. They've got to be less expensive than what I've been buying. I just have a problem with this whole dog food thing. I want to know who started all of this, "purina is bad", pedigree is bad", etc. I think someone is trying to sucker everyone, and I'm not going to be suckered anymore. Been around too many years for that. link for anyone else who cares to read it...http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-dog-food.html you said that you started that thread wondering about foods. doesn't read to me like you were just wondering about foods. now you should try your own advice. READ your posts. if you have a question about food. ask a question instead of starting threads with misleading headings such as "top 10 dog food companies". it is quit misleading for people who are researching to find quality food for their pet. | |

![]() ![]() And second of all... I never said the food was crappy. If you read what I originally posted, you would see that I was quoting one of your previous posts. However, after rereading it.. I think I misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you were calling the food you were on currently "crappy". My apologies.
